Episode 5

CHAPTER 4.

NARRATOR.

Suffering was the first thing she experienced upon waking. A sharp pain pierced her head, as if thousands of burning needles were being driven into her at once. A weak groan escaped her lips as her eyelids, heavy as lead, slowly opened. The room looked blurry, as if it were a painting submerged in water.

Her heart beat strongly, pounding in her chest as if trying to escape.

"Where... am I?" she whispered in a voice rough and dry, as if she hadn't spoken in years.

She blinked several times. The world around her began to focus.

Gray velvet covered the walls, chandeliers hung from the ceiling like frozen tears. The large mirror was in front of the bed. The white sofa where she was lying, her bedroom inside the mansion. Everything looked the same. Intact. As if the horrors of the prison, the beatings, the blood, and the shadows of the night were nothing more than a nightmare.

She sat up slowly. Her body trembled, weak and fragile. She looked at her wrist: 7:00 p.m.

The same watch. The same skin. Everything seemed too real.

A shiver ran down her spine.

Was this a dream? A hallucination? Or was she dead... trapped in a limbo?

Then, the door opened.

And he appeared. Dreiner.

He wore an impeccable black tuxedo, with an elegance bordering on contempt, distractedly adjusting his watch as he spoke without looking at her.

"Antonella, you've been asleep," he said with a slight, almost condescending smile. "Did you see the time? We're going to be late for the contract signing. I mentioned to you that these new partners are crucial."

He kept talking as if nothing was wrong.

"I'll go ahead. I'll leave the driver for you. Please, don't make me look bad."

And he left. Just like always. Leaving behind the trace of his expensive perfume... and his invisible poison.

Antonella remained motionless. She didn't breathe. She stayed there, frozen. The blood was ringing in her ears.

Everything in her screamed that this couldn't be real. But it was. The cold of the marble under her bare feet. The metallic taste in her mouth. The constant hammering in her head. Everything was true.

She ran to the mirror.

And there she was, Antonella. The one from before. The woman who once had faith. The one who still believed in love, in loyalty, in justice. Her eyes had light, her face was soft, young, free from all the horror that she now knew was coming. The cell phone on the dresser verified the date.

It was today.

The day it all began, the same night Dreiner would meet Paloma, the night her misfortune would take shape for the first time.

But this time... she knew everything.

And this time, she wouldn't be a victim, a subtle, almost unsettling smile appeared on her face. There was no sign of fear in her eyes. There was only rage, resentment, pain, a rage nuanced by the suffering, the betrayal, and the hell she had just gone through. She headed to the closet. Her hands caressed the hanging clothes as if they were knives. Each fabric, each seam, had its reason for being. It was essential to choose with caution. Her attire would be her declaration of war. Her appearance, her first attack.

She opted for a red dress. Red as blood. Red as revenge, of shiny silk, fitted to her figure, designed to attract, to dominate, to indicate that Antonella Bernal had returned.

As she put on makeup in front of the mirror, her hands no longer trembled. Each stroke of eyeliner, each layer of mascara, each application of intense red lipstick represented a silent promise. An oath sealed with blood and fire.

"Thank you, God..." she murmured with her eyes closed. "Thank you for this opportunity."

Then she looked up. Her expression reflected a woman who had lost everything... and now was going to recover everything and take revenge.

"I promise you by my soul: there will be no mercy. Every tear I shed will be avenged. And you, Dreiner... you will pay until your last breath."

Upon leaving the room, dressed in red like a living flame, Antonella was no longer the worn-out woman who had suffered in a cell.

Now she was a whirlwind.

A tempest, a woman reborn by revenge, and nothing, no one.

Could stop her.
