A new friend

I think let's start
Yun
(startled, looking toward the vent in the corner):
W-Who’s there?
Shin
I’m in the next cell. Name’s Shin. I’m six. They brought me here last year.
Yun
(crawling closer to the vent):
You… live here too?
Shin
I don’t live. I survive. Big difference.
pauses
You’re the Ice Girl, right?
Shin
They say you cut a training dummy in half on your first try. Cool.
Yun
Not really. They made me do it. I didn’t want to.
Shin
(soft laugh):
That’s how this place works. They force us to do things… things we don’t want. But… you didn’t cry.
Yun
I cried when no one could see.
Shin
Smart. Crying in front of them makes it worse.
Yun
(curious):
What’s your power?
Shin
You will know in the future.
Yun
it sounds like it protects you. That’s kinda nice.
Shin
(pauses):
You’re weird… in a good way. Most kids here forget how to be nice.
Yun
(soft smile):
You’re the first person who didn’t call me a monster…
They sit quietly for a moment, both kids leaning against the vent, back to back through the metal wall.
Shin
Hey… let’s make a promise.
Shin
When we get strong enough… let’s escape. Together.
Yun
(eyes glowing faintly blue):
Promise.
Shin
(smiling through the vent):
Promise.
One week later — Underground Training Facilit
Kabuto
(walking in with a clipboard):
Yun. Shin. Time for today’s test. And remember… failure means no food tonight.
Yun
(standing up, voice calm but sharp):
What kind of test?
Shin
(stepping beside her):
Whatever it is, we’ll pass it. Right, Ice Queen?
Yun
(glancing at him, small smile):
Don’t call me that…
Kabuto
Today’s test is a combat simulation. You two… against three adult shinobi clones.
Shin
Wait, that’s not fair—!
Kabuto
(cutting him off):
Fair? This is Orochimaru-sama’s lab. We don’t do “fair” here.
Shin
(nodding):
Let’s show them what we’ve got.
Combat Simulation Room – the door slams shut behind them.
Yun
(eyes glowing light blue):
One at a time. I’ll block. You hit.
Shin
(blood starting to harden across his arms):
Got it. Just don’t freeze me by accident.
Three shinobi clones dash forward with blinding speed.
Yun
(slamming her palm down):
“Ice Pillars — Formation!
Giant icy spikes burst from the ground, blocking two of the clones instantly. One slips past, blade raised.
Shin
Blood Shell: Fist Crush!
His hardened blood-arm smashes the clone into the wall, shattering it into smoke.
??.??.
(charging):
You kids are nothing.
She raises her hand, and an icy whip flies forward, slashing the clone’s leg, freezing it mid-stride.
He spins, kicks the frozen clone’s chest. It bursts into ice shards.
Kabuto
(watching through glass):
…Incredible. Their synchronization improved in just a week.
Orochimaru
(arms crossed behind him):
Yun’s power is adapting. It’s as if her chakra is learning how to protect her on its own…
Back in their cells, later that night.
Shin
(lying on the floor, out of breath):
That… was awesome.
Yun
(leaning against the wall):
We still got hurt…
Yun
(staring at her frosted fingers):
I think… my ice is changing. It’s colder… but it listens to me better.
Shin
Maybe your ice likes me.
Yun
(rolling her eyes):
Pfft. As if.
Shin
One day, we’ll fight our way out of here. Together.
Yun
(nodding softly):
Yeah. And I’ll freeze everything between us and the door.
A few days later – Yun’s cell door opens in the middle of the night.
