The Betrayal in Shadows

There are people you meet who look like angels, speak like saints, and act like they care.
And then… there's Min Hera. Beautiful? Yes. Graceful? Of course. Deadly? Like a venom-laced smile. To most people, she was elegance personified.
But to Park Jungkook… she was a friend. A friend he never realized was sharpening a knife behind her backhanded compliments.

(Jovial)

Min Hera
“Jungkookie, you look so tired again. You’re working too hard! Sungchul is lucky to have someone like you.”
She said things like that. Warm words. Sweet voice. But her eyes always flickered like she knew exactly what she was doing.
And Jungkook? Poor, soft-hearted Jungkook… He believed every single word.
Park Sungchul
Park Sungchul
(Chuckling) “Hera was just saying how we should plan a little trip, maybe for some bonding time. You, me, her. Like a family getaway.”
Jeon Jungkook

(Smiling faintly) “That sounds… nice. I’d love that.”
Of course he would. He didn’t know he was the one footing the bill while they toasted champagne behind his back.
He just wanted to be loved. Seen. And Sungchul? He played the part perfectly.

Min Hera
(Leaning in, fake concern) “You know, Jungkook… a good husband is always attentive. Sungchul deserves someone who supports him emotionally. Do you… think you’re doing enough?”
And with that tiny seed of doubt, she watched it grow watering it with whispers, fertilizing it with flattery, until Jungkook was drowning in guilt for sins he never committed.
They had a system. Hera whispered. Sungchul acted. Jungkook obeyed.

(Quietly, unsure) “I just… want to make him happy. Am I not enough?”
Park Sungchul
Park Sungchul
(Shrugging, barely hiding the smirk) “You try, baby. That’s what matters.”
It would’ve gone on forever… if Jungkook hadn’t walked in early that one evening.
(Sound: Door creaks open)

Jeon Jungkook
(Cheerful) “Surprise! I brought dinner—”
Jeon Jungkook
Jeon Jungkook
(Stops, silence) “…Hera?”
There they were. On his couch. Laughing like teenagers. Sitting too close. Eyes too familiar.
Park Sungchul
Park Sungchul
(Scrambling) “Jungkook! You’re home early. We were just… talking.”
Min Hera
Min Hera
(Sweetly) “Reminiscing. You remember college days, right?”
Jeon Jungkook
Jeon Jungkook
(Stiff, confused) “…I don’t believe you.”
And that was it.
The moment the veil dropped.
The moment his fairy tale finally shattered.
Min Hera
Min Hera
(Smirking) “You were easy, Jungkook. Too easy. Always so eager to please, to believe in love. You were the wallet. That’s all.”
Park Sungchul
Park Sungchul
(Sighing) “I never really loved you. I married you because… you were convenient.”
There are heartbreaks. And then there’s betrayal like this. Not just being left behind but being played, over and over again.
And Jungkook? He just stood there, shattered in his own home, in his own skin, wondering how love turned into a scam.
Jeon Jungkook
Jeon Jungkook
(Whispers) “Why would you do this to me…?”
Because some people don’t love you.
They love what you give. And when you stop giving… they stop pretending.
