Chapter 5: The old dream...

Normally, Aiden would’ve waken up immediately each time he heard the door opening, however, this time, he only close his eyes , doing nothing. He heard the sound of the tray being put down, and the closing door, but he decided to ignored it, for he was too tired to wake up today.

“Aiden? Are you not up yet? It's morning already, so wake up and let's have breakfast together, or else that old man might took all the food away.” Said Alora, as she start shaking him.

Aiden tiredly open his eyes and lift his body up like a mechanical robot without oil. He start to recall the weird dream he had last night at the airport. This might somehow related to the recent incident, he thought.

“Aiden? Aiden, what’s wrong? Did you really fall sick! Why are you spacing out again!!!” cried the girl, panicked.

“... I'm fine, sister, you don't have to worry about me. I just have a weird dream a bout the past, that's all.” Replied Aiden, tiredly.

Alora then look at her brother’s facial expression. He still have that cold looking face, but it seems paler than usual.

“You look abit pale, Aiden, what did you even dreamed about? Is it a nightmare?”

Aiden slowly shook his head. He gaze toward his worried sister, then said.

“... I'll tell you about that dream later, so for now, let's eat first. It really is no big deal, so don't worry.”

“... If you say so, then ok.”

The two heaed toward the tray of food. There was creamy hot mashed potato, topped with some chives and grinded black peppers. There are also two cups of milk, two strawberry and, a bottle of water, as usual.

They start chewing the food without a word. The breakfast was delicious today, however, both of them have a gloomy expression on their face.

As they finished the food, the old man once again walked in, however, he also brought a change of clothes and two towels, dipped in buckets of water. The twin was amazed and dumbfounded. ‘What are those for' is what they are both thinking right now.

This time, the old man just stood there, looking at them. They were puzzled and confused. Then, Aiden suddenly have a thought.

“... That... Those things, are they for us to change and... Take a bath, maybe?..” Said Aiden, confusingly.

The man just stared at them, unable to say anything, then he slightly nooded.

The twin was dumbfounded again.

Their first thought was ‘ So he wasn’t deaf after all', and then, ‘WHAT?!? SO IT WAS REALLY FOR A BATH?!?’

The twin turn to each other, bot knowing what to do, then, Alora spoke:

“Umm.. You see... It's a bit embarrassing taking a bath infront of others, and, I don't really know how to bathed using a towel and a bucket of water, too...” said Alora, weirdly.

The man didn’t react. Then, he pointer at space between the bed and the wall. The bed was as tall as our chests.

“Don't tell me... You want us to stand behind that bed to take a bath?!? No way!!!” Yelled Alora, with a blushing face.

The old man just stand at the door. He then pointed at himself, pointed at the twins. At that moment, the twin then gave up, for they understood that, if they don't do it by themselves, he's going to do it, and they'd rather bathed by themselves then do so.

They rushed to the old man and fetched their water buckets, towels and white clothes, similar to what they are wearing right now.

DRIP...DRIP...SPLASHED!!!

The sounded of water dripping down from the dipped towels. Every time we scrub our body, there was a chilling cold, moistened, and a satisfaction feeling when all the exhaustion were gone, and also for being able to bathed after ages. Dipped, twisted and scrubbed. The process repeats, and so, we finally finish putting on our clothes.

The man finally made his way out with all the dirty things.

“Haa....., that was refreshing...” Said Alora, lazily.

The two lied down on the white bed sheet, relaxing. It was then, Alora asked.

“By the way, Aiden, what about that dream you have dreamed about? Is it related to the memory you said you are struggling to remembered?”

Aiden nodded.

“...Yes, it's that dream...”

“So... What it is about then?”

“... It's the time we were at the airport, waiting for the delayed plane together just before the plane crashed” said Aiden, slowly.

“What? Why would you dreamed about something like that? Is it related?” Asked Alora, confused.

“... Well, do you perhaps remembered about that day? What did I do that day?”

“Hmm...? You were.... Ummm..., I... Don't really remembered it clearly...”

Aiden shifted his gaze toward his sister.

“... I was reading a web novel during the wait.”

“Huh...? Ah!!! You mean that famous web novel on the top search? Now I remembered!!!”

“... Then do you remembered about the name and what you told me about the contents of the novel?”

“ Huh.. ? I did something like that? I don't remembered though...” said Alora, awkwardly.

Aiden sigh.

“As expected, you don't remembered it, well it took a while for me to remember too so...”

He continued.

“ The name was ‘Unfortunate life of a corrupted duke', I was reading it until chapter 23, to be percise, and do you know what I've discovered?”

“What?”

“... The content of the novel mainly focus on the unfortunate life of a heroic duke, Noah Ashford, however, there are other ‘sacrifices characters' too...”

“Then...”

“... One of the characters that died at the beginning of the story, as well as one of the unfortunate accident that leads to the horrible life of the duke himself, was the death of his two children after being kidnaped for around 1 or 2 years...”

“... Wait...”

“... And the two child's name was ‘Aiden Ashford' and ‘Alora Ashford'...”

Silence filled the room...

After some time, Alora opened her mouth.

“... So you are saying... WE are THOSE kids who will DIED soon?!?” Said Alora, gasped.

Aiden nodded.

“... That might be the case, since we traveled to this world already, that can happened too.”

So, to sum everything up, we are currently in a novel world, were our role was to be the sacrifices for the story. What the hell?!?

“... So then, do you perhaps remembered the content or anything to help us in this situation...?” Asked Alora, hopefully.

“... Not really, ‘we' died at the beginning of the story, and most of the content was about the duke... So I'm not sure, really...” Said Aiden, disapointing.

And so, we are stucked in a crappy situation like this, not knowing what to do.
