Bad Omen!
A few men with village women who didn't look less than witches came inside. That girl instantly scoot away from me. looking at her and then at them I wore my shirt. The dangerous-looking woman throwing a really hateful glare at that innocent-looking little girl. The girl started trembling as that woman walks toward her.

"Plea....please...please....maaa...do... don't hurt me"
the woman is her mother who held her arms tightly while the girl started weeping.

"Ahh...no...maa please leave me"

"You ran away from ghat breaking our biggest pratha to elope with your lover huh? Is this I thought you?"
She slapped the girl who was crying badly.
Villagers
"Beshram ladki! Sharam nahi ayi ye sab karne se pehle! Bhagwan se daro! ***you shameless! Didn't you had any shame before doing this? Didn't you fear the God!?***!! "
An old pulled her hair while screaming on her face.
I was shocked would be an understatement.

"Arre hum tujhse punya ka kaam kara rahe the , par Tu ghar se bhag ayi iske saath sone! Kitne paise diye hai isne tujhe bol! ***I was making you do good deed but you ran away to sleep with him! Tell me how much money he gives you?***!!"
She shook that girl holding her both arms.

I roared. I couldn't believe how she was talking.

"Yeh kya bol rahi hai aap! Aapka dimag to thik hai?!***What the hell are you saying? Are you in your right mind!?***"
I didn't know what gotten into me that I pull that girl behind me holding her arms.

"Ab tak thik nahi tha par ab hai. ***I was not in my right mind until now*** I will kill that whøre today. Anyways she have to die today."
She yelled and tried to grab that girl but I open my arms wide not wanting to let her reach her.

"What are you saying? You can't just abuse her. I will call the police if you guys don't leave"
I threatened them but that women smiled evilly.

"She is my daughter. And I will do whatever I want with her. And about the police? So let me tell you dear that this village's police and judged is the man doesn't interfere in our matters and yesterday her husband died during her marriage so, now she have to die alone with him as a sati."
I was beyond shocked. I felt my eyes going to pop out. First, she said this girl was her daughter and then she said some man was marrying her dead. She looks so young and they were marrying her? And Sati pratha? It's illegal! How can they do this to her and why police and judge doesn't interfere in their situation.

"Chal ab ghat par tere pati ke saath tujhe bhi vida karti hu***let's go to ghat and send you to gob with your husband***
She said and started to drag that girl.

"Maa jaane do mujhe! I didn't do anything! I don't know him! Yakeen kare mera, mai beti hun apki! ***Maa please let me go! I didn't do anything! I don't know him! Please trust me, I'm your daughter***
That girl started crying loudly and begging.
Shyam Das (FL father)
"Let's go back to ghat , and take this guy too."

"Pleaseeeeee baba don't do this to me please......"
But her own father ignored her pleading.
They again dragged me on ghat from where I ranway. I don't want to die.
I broke into a thousand and thousands of cries and I could hear the protesting noises from the behind.

"I'll not allow this happening infront of my eyes."
The seheri babu started coming towards me to save .
Villagers
"You cannot do this. It will be considered a sin. She needs to die"
The villager aunty shouted.
I felt him touching my arm and pulling me closer to him, but my whole body felt so numb and I could feel lifeless already.
He pulled me closer in his arms and I could not help but hide my face his chest with fear.

"Pl... please save me sir.
My voice came out slow and I heard the faded noise of people screaming.
Shyam Das (FL father)
"This is not your city and definitely not your business. Put her back on the pyre or you will all be laying over one by the end of the day."
I got scared by my father's words. I can't let them hurt this unknown stranger who stood up for me.

"Leave me. They will kill you too."
I tried to say and fisted my hand on his chest and he looked at me.

"Are you out of your mind?"
Few villagers started attacking on the seheri babu. He screamed in pain but fought back.
Naintara
"Leave meeeeee, I deserve this. Do not hurt him because of meme. Do not do this. I deserve this."
I burst into cries and an old lady immediately pulled me closer and landed a tight slap right at my cheek and yelled at me with the wrathful voice.
Villagers
"You're the reason of your husband's death and now he'll die too because of you just a bad omen you are."
Naintara
"I.... I'm...not...."
I cried because of the pain.
The old lady and few more ladies joined her and started dragging me towards my dead husband.
Naintara
"Leavee meeeeeeeeeee"
I started to scream and struggle. My white clothes collected all the dirt as he was dragging and I screamned on the top my lung.
