Through Gritted Teeth—BL;
Chapter 3—Grandfather Yefrem
Helene Francesco
Good morning, Essiahhh!!
Essiah Lincoln
Good morning. (checks his watch)
Essiah Lincoln
Have you seen the professor?
Helene Francesco
Uh, no. But anyway—I have something to tell you.
Essiah Lincoln
I'm sorry, but I need to talk to the professor first.
Essiah Lincoln
I'm taking a few days off school.
Helene Francesco
What—why?
Essiah Lincoln
(looks around) Well, there's this new pack of wolves roaming around our territory lately.
Essiah Lincoln
We need to seal a contract with them for peace.
Helene Francesco
Oh, but why do you need to take a few days off? And how many days?
Essiah Lincoln
My brother asked me. He said I should complete the ritual and let them turn me into a stronger vampire.
Helene Francesco
But won't that make you vulnerable to the sun? 🙁
Essiah Lincoln
*clenched his jaw*....
Helene Francesco
Essiah, please think about it? You won't just leave me like that, will you?
Essiah Lincoln
*sigh* I won't. I-I'll try to convince my brother again.
Helene Francesco
*smile* Okay!
Essiah Lincoln
But I'm still taking a few days off, we need to watch the wolves for a few days to see if they're going to cause trouble in our territory
Helene Francesco
Okay, understandable.
Essiah Lincoln
Thank you, anyway the professor—
Essiah Lincoln
Oh, wait. What was that you were going to tell me earlier?
Helene Francesco
Hm, are you gay?
Essiah Lincoln
Where did that come from? I'm not gay! *yells*
Helene Francesco
*flinched* Sh! (looks around)
Helene Francesco
Now everyone is staring at you.
Essiah Lincoln
*embarrassed* W-well, I'm not gay. Why did you even ask me that?
Helene Francesco
Well, Makari asked me yesterday when you left.
Essiah Lincoln
What the hell? Why?
Helene Francesco
He said he saw you blushing when he pinned you down on the door. He thought you liked him, that's why he asked me.
Essiah Lincoln
What the fuck?! What did you tell him???
Helene Francesco
I told him I'd ask you.
Essiah Lincoln
WHAT? He would mostly think I'm gay then!
Essiah Lincoln
He will think that I am gay and of course I won't tell you about it or at least he will think that I'm lying to you that I'm not actually— *panics*
Helene Francesco
Okay-okay, chill.
Makari Victor
Why are you so defensive then if you're not gay?
Essiah Lincoln
*gasp* (turns to Makari)
Essiah Lincoln
*Embarrassed;blushed* (rushed out)
Helene Francesco
Wait, Essiah—
Helene Francesco
Why would you tell him that?!
Helene Francesco
💬where are you?
Helene Francesco
💬tf? you raged and left school?
Essiah Lincoln
💬no I didn't and tell that motherfucker that I'm not gay.
Helene Francesco
💬K. Why are you home anyway? We have classes?
Essiah Lincoln
💬the reason why I was looking for the professor was because I also needed to excuse myself today.
Essiah Lincoln
💬family gathering. My grandfather's coming.
Helene Francesco
💬oh my god, daddy?
Essiah Lincoln
💬LEAVE MY GRANDFATHER ALONE
Essiah Lincoln
(puts his phone down) Freak
Essiah Lincoln
(looks up at his brother leaning on his door)
Malachai Lincoln
Grandfather's here. Come down and greet him. (turns his back on Essiah)
Essiah Lincoln
Okay... (followed his brother)
As Essiah made his way down the stairs, he heard a pair of voices. When he reached the bottom, he found his grandfather and father sitting across from each other, deep in what seemed to be a serious discussion. Meanwhile, his older brother Malachai was engaged in a conversation with their grandfather's assistant.
Alexr Voxanov
Oh, look who it is! Essiah my boy (made his way to Essiah)
Essiah Lincoln
*flinched* Oh, hi—
Alexr Voxanov
So awkward! Come on, I used to change your diaper for you, remember?
Essiah Lincoln
*raised a brow in annoyance*
Malachai Lincoln
You sound like a fucking aunt who always try to fit in.
Alexr Voxanov
That hurts my feelings, Malachai. Rude.
Malachai Lincoln
Even Essiah is annoyed by your presence. (grabs Essiah by his arm)
Essiah Lincoln
(stayed behind Malachai)
Alexr Voxanov
*sneers* Ah, such a sweet bromance.
Alexr Voxanov
Yes, no, maybe?
Yefrem Viktor
Enough, Alexr.
Hezekiah Lincoln
Come here, Essiah.
Yefrem Viktor
(signed for Alexr to take Malachai outside with him)
Alexr Voxanov
(understood) Hey—wanna go to the club? - (pulled Malachai out)
Yefrem Viktor
It's been long, Essiah.
Yefrem Viktor
You have grown a lot.
Essiah Lincoln
Yes, grandfather.
Yefrem Viktor
Come sit beside me.
Essiah Lincoln
(did as he was told)
Hezekiah Lincoln
Essiah has grown a lot since you last visited.
Yefrem Viktor
Well, but is my Essiah finally ready to meet with wolves?
Essiah Lincoln
*gulps* That's...
Yefrem Viktor
*glares at Hezekiah* Did I ask you?
Hezekiah Lincoln
*jaw clenched* Forgive me, father.
Yefrem Viktor
(focused back on Essiah who seemed to be tense)
Yefrem Viktor
It's okay if you don't feel like meeting with the wolves yet, Essiah.
Yefrem Viktor
You don't have to force yourself to do something you don't want to do. (held Essiah's shoulder)
Essiah Lincoln
*furrowed his brows;grits his teeth*
Essiah's body erupted in a torrent of sweat, starkly contrasting the chill that enveloped him.
His heart raced, and tears welled in his eyes, blurring his vision as he gripped the frayed edges of his jeans with trembling hands.
Yefrem, attuned to Essiah's distress, cast a swift yet knowing glance at Hezekiah, his expression a quiet blend of concern and determination.
Gently, he closed Essiah's eyes, shielding him from the turmoil. When Essiah finally opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the familiar sanctuary of his room, a comforting presence beside him—his grandfather Yefrem, steadfast and reassuring.
Yefrem Viktor
It's okay now, Essiah.
Yefrem Viktor
Tell me, has your father been forcing you to meet with the wolves?
Essiah Lincoln
I-it's coward of me if I don't show myself at the peacemaking ritual.
Yefrem Viktor
You're not a coward, Essiah.
Yefrem Viktor
I understand your point.
Yefrem Viktor
You were still young when you watched your mother being slaughtered right in front of you by the wolves.
Yefrem Viktor
You don't have to act tough and meet them if you're not ready.
Yefrem Viktor
You need to prioritize yourself first.
Essiah Lincoln
B-but father... I don't want to disappoint him and Malachai.
Essiah Lincoln
And even so, they won't stop forcing me into meeting with the wolves once you leave.
Yefrem Viktor
*clenched his jaw*
Yefrem Viktor
I told them to go easy on you... Should I just take you with me?
Essiah Lincoln
N-no! Please don't, I have a friend here... I can't... I don't know if I can get a long with other vampires well..
Yefrem Viktor
*sigh* I understand .
Yefrem Viktor
I'll just have to attend the peacemaking ritual with you then.
Yefrem Viktor
I'm not letting your father and brother take you in a place where you're uncomfortable without me.
Yefrem Viktor
I can't stand the thought of my grandson being forced to do what he doesn't want.
Yefrem Viktor
You're safe with me, okay?
Essiah Lincoln
*teary* I'm sorry—I'm causing so much trouble for you...
Yefrem Viktor
Don't be sorry, and don't cry. It hurts me seeing my grandson cry
Essiah Lincoln
(wipes his tears) Thank you so much, grandfather.
Yefrem Viktor
Everything for my dear grandson. *smiles*
Yefrem Viktor
Now come on, we haven't had dinner together for a long time now, did we?
Essiah Lincoln
Okay, should I call Alexr and Malachai outside?
Yefrem Viktor
No, let them be. I'm taking you out, so don't tell your father. Okay?
Essiah Lincoln
What?! But-
Yefrem Viktor
Come on now, don't you want to bond with your grandfather while I'm still here?
Essiah Lincoln
Of course I do!
Essiah Lincoln
And that's the least that I can do for you after all you've done for me..
Yefrem Viktor
*chuckles* Now, now, let's leave before your father sees us.
Essiah Lincoln
But I haven't mastered my teleportation yet...
Yefrem Viktor
No worries. (holds his hand)
Viktoria Serapphine
Halo! >_<
