The sky is a deep, heavy gray — thick with clouds, almost bruised with rain.

she goes quiet, her thoughts drifting elsewhere.

The sky’s so dark again... Feels like the rain won’t stop anytime soon

She lets out a quiet sigh

Half-whispering, as if thinking aloud

And still... that boy never remembers to take his umbrella

I must’ve told him a hundred times... but does he ever listen? No...

What am I going to do with this careless kid....

She pauses....

I wish he had someone who’d look out for him when I’m not around.

She lets out a small sigh

His friends are such sweet boys no doubt... but just as careless as him

The woman starts tidying up behind the counter — rearranging a few snack packets, setting bottles straight on the shelf.

it's getting dark so fast these days..

She walks down the street, looking for an open store. All are closed—except one unfamiliar shop.

I've never seen this store before..

Is it new, but when did it open !?

She walks in, the bell above the door jingling softly.
