Episode 5: Silent Tears Behind Words

The cool breeze swept through the school corridor.

The final bell had rung a while ago.

Students were rushing outside in noisy groups—some laughing, some crying, and some just quietly walking, lost in thought.

Rayhan stood alone, leaning against his locker.

Suddenly, he noticed a folded piece of paper tucked inside the door.

Strange.

He had never received anything like this before.

With a mixture of curiosity and unease, he pulled it out.

The handwriting was rushed, shaky—almost as if someone had written it in fear.

It read:

...> "Don’t trust everyone. The truth hides in the shadows of that day."...

...Rayhan’s heart skipped a beat....

...He looked around instinctively....

...But there was no one....

...For a fleeting moment, he thought he saw a silhouette at the end of the corridor—a girl, in a light blue skirt and white blouse, head down, hair flowing freely....

...She stood there, staring in his direction....

...Then, just like a whisper in the wind, she disappeared into the crowd....

...Rayhan froze....

...Who was she?...

...Was she trying to tell him something?...

...And... could she be connected to Fahim somehow?...

---

With heavy steps, Rayhan moved towards the empty classroom.

His heart pounded in his chest, an invisible weight pressing down on him.

Fahim’s desk sat quietly at the far end—abandoned, yet somehow alive with memories.

As if pulled by an unseen force, Rayhan approached it.

...He gently opened the old drawer....

...Inside lay forgotten notebooks, broken pens... and at the corner, an old, dusty diary....

...His fingers trembled as he picked it up....

...On the first page, written in Fahim’s familiar handwriting, it said:...

...> "Friend, even if I am no longer here, never lose faith in yourself....

...Truth always hides. It takes courage to find it."...

...The words stabbed deep into Rayhan’s heart....

...His vision blurred with unshed tears....

...Holding the diary close to his chest, he stood there silently, as if the world had stopped spinning....

...He whispered under his breath,...

..."Why, Fahim...?...

...Why would you leave words like these behind?...

You always said you’d never give up..."

---

Time slipped away unnoticed.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps broke the heavy silence.

Rayhan turned around sharply—

At the far end of the classroom, the same girl was walking away again.

Head bowed, face hidden, steps slow... almost reluctant.

Rayhan’s instincts screamed at him—

"Follow her! She knows something!"

But before he could move, the girl stumbled and fell.

Rayhan ran towards her, but before he could reach her, she got up and dashed away, vanishing once again.

On the ground where she fell, something remained.

Rayhan bent down and picked it up—a small torn piece of paper.

It said:

> "If you want to find Fahim, come to the Old Library.

But come alone."

---

A shiver ran down Rayhan’s spine.

The Old Library...

It was the oldest, creepiest place in the entire school, abandoned years ago.

Rumors said it was haunted.

Many students dared each other to enter—but few actually did.

Rayhan clutched the paper tightly in his fist.

He knew.

Deep down, he knew—

If he hesitated now, he might lose Fahim forever.

He closed his eyes for a brief second, breathing deeply, and whispered:

> "I'm coming, Fahim. For you... I’ll walk through any darkness."

---

Rayhan walked out of the classroom, the fading sunset casting long shadows behind him.

The diary, still pressed against his heart, felt heavy.

Each step he took toward the Old Library echoed loudly in the empty hallway.

The wind outside howled through the broken windows.

The world around him felt eerily still, almost holding its breath.

And in that silence, Rayhan heard it—

A faint whisper, carried by the wind:

...> "True sacrifices for friendship never die..."...
