The Wedding That Wasn't (Taekook)
Episode 1: "You May Now Ruin the Wedding"
The grand wedding hall smelled like a funeral.
Not to anyone else—but to Jeon Jungkook, the scent of fresh-cut white roses, polished marble, and designer perfume was the smell of something dying.
Him.
Cameras flashed from all directions. The media buzzed like bees outside the windows, hungry for a perfect shot of the union between two powerful families: The Jeons and the Chois.
And there he stood—Jungkook, heir of the Jeon Corporation, dressed in a pristine ivory tuxedo that hugged his slender form perfectly, but felt like chains.
His face was emotionless, mask-like. But beneath the surface, his heart thundered.
This wasn’t the wedding he wanted. It wasn’t the love he dreamed of. It wasn’t the person he longed for.
It wasn’t Taehyung.
jeon seokjin (Jungkook 's mother)
“Are you okay?”
His mother, Seokjin, leaned in from her seat nearby, eyes scanning his face for cracks.
Jungkook forced a soft smile.
jeon Jungkook
“Of course.”
But his hand trembled slightly as he adjusted the sleeve that hid a silver chain around his wrist. On that chain, a small, worn ring rested. A promise once made. A love once real.
A love that left.
Choi Taemin walked down the aisle in a dark navy suit, sleek and smug. His expression was camera-ready: charismatic, confident, a perfect public husband.
To everyone watching, he was the man of dreams.
To Jungkook, he was a nightmare with a charming smile.
Taemin reached the altar and took Jungkook’s hand in his.
choi taemin
You look stunning, my love Smile for them.*he whispered smoothly.*
Taemin wasn’t cruel—but he wasn’t gentle, either. Their engagement was political, arranged, and suffocating. Behind closed doors, Taemin didn’t love Jungkook—he owned him. Controlled his every move. Cut off his friends. Even banned the name Taehyung from being spoken aloud.
Jungkook didn’t rebel. He didn’t fight.
He just... faded.
The priest stood before them now. Cameras rolled. The hall fell silent.
“If anyone has any reason these two should not be wed... speak now or forever hold your peace.”
A pause.
Jungkook's eyes flickered toward the closed doors of the chapel.
Silence.
Then—
BANG.
The massive doors slammed open.
Gasps filled the hall.
And there he stood.
Kim Taehyung.
kim taehyung
(voice deep, unwavering):
“I object.”
Taehyung walked down the aisle slowly, every step echoing like a drum in Jungkook’s chest.
jeon namjoon (Jungkook 's father)
“Who is this? Get security—”
jeon seokjin (Jungkook 's mother)
“Who is this? Get security—”
kim taehyung
(to the crowd):
“I am the one he truly loved. I am the man he still wears a ring for.”
He reached Jungkook. Gently, he lifted Jungkook’s wrist—exposing the chain and the silver ring beneath his sleeve.
Gasps again. Even Taemin stepped back in shock.
kim taehyung
(to Jungkook, softly):
“You never took it off…”
jeon Jungkook
(voice cracked, breathless):
“You left me.”
Taehyung’s jaw tightened.
kim taehyung
“I had to. I was protecting you… but I should’ve stayed. I regret it every damn day.”
choi taemin
(furious):
“This is insanity! Jungkook, tell him to leave. Tell him he means nothing to you.”
Jungkook turned slowly toward him.
But he said nothing.
Because how could he say Taehyung meant nothing, when his entire soul still burned for him?
kim taehyung
(gently cupping Jungkook’s face):
“Tell me you don’t love me… and I’ll walk away. Right now. I won’t fight. Just lie to me.”
Tears welled in Jungkook’s eyes.
But the words never came.
Because he couldn’t lie.
Not about this.
The priest stepped back.
The ceremony was in ruins.
Namjoon looked ready to explode. Seokjin had silent tears on her lashes. Taemin stormed off in a rage, pushing cameras out of the way.
Jungkook stood, frozen between his old life and his new one.
kim taehyung
“Come with me.”
jeon Jungkook
“Do you think you can just show up and fix everything?”
kim taehyung
“No. But I’ll fight for you this time. Until you hate me. Or forgive me.”
Silence.
Then slowly—Jungkook stepped down from the altar. Walked toward Taehyung. The silver ring clinked gently with every move.
And for the first time in years…
He felt alive.
