Chapter 5: Seeking Job

Wearing a conservative suit Xiaoxi Chen appeared in Gu Corp headquarters the next day. She has been scheduled for a job interview. Upon arrival she saw some other applicants who came for the same purpose were all beautiful and charming, showing off their elegant aura. Some of them she heard murmuring that they are looking forward to seeing in person the legendary Gu Corp CEO, Rouzhen Gu who will personally do the interview.  

After a few hours of waiting for other women around began to whisper looking towards the door near them that suddenly open. “Girls we will about to start soon,” the voice of the man coming out from the room speaks clearly. Xiaoxi Chen just sat down in silence while listening carefully with the man’s instruction.

“Do you hear that? This hiring will be conducted by the CEO itself” excitement filled the entire waiting area from those applicants. “Yes! The CEO, Mr. Gu is so handsome, I can finally see him! Uttered by the other girl setting near her. “Dream Lover! This guy who is giving us an instruction is also part of the administrative team, he is Mr. Ni. He had a charming smile and always with the CEO most of the time” replied with the other woman.

Zion Ni took a glance to a woman wearing a conservative dress setting silently and waiting patiently. He saw she had an innocent and beautiful face. The pretty face somewhat calls his attention. He seems he had encountered that woman before but he can’t recall back.

“Shh! The manager Zion Ni is coming!” Someone said it. Suddenly the screams made Xiaoxi Chen look forward where everyone’s attention been nailed. A man’s face, but like a delicate woman with fair skin and it was bit transparent and perfectly combined. He was whistling and stood at the door of the reception room while observing those ladies, lazily smiled revealing a bright smile that could take away a woman's attention. She stares him properly, her thoughts telling that the man standing near them is somewhat familiar to her. She quickly abandoned her thoughts because her purpose of coming to this company is for the job. According to Chaoxing Bai, Gu Corp offers a good salary and benefits to their employees.

After a while, a middle age woman came out from the door where the man comes from. “Mr. Ni!, CEO called you to the conference room”. It was Secretary Qi Feng’s voice who behind him patted his shoulder. Zion Ni nodded and walked towards the conference room. Xiaoxi Chen who is silently sitting at the corner waiting for her name to be called for the interview. Her conservation old dress attracts the attention of Mr. Ni. She looks pale and nervous but she had to endure it and must present herself pleasantly once she will face the CEO who said to be the interviewer.

An hour ago girls who already done a short interview walk out in the conference room. Xiaoxi Chen heard her name called by Secretary Qi Feng. She stands immediately and walks forward to the conference room. When she enters inside she heard Zion Ni throwing joke to Secretary Feng, “ Well, sister Qi Feng you look so upset seeing those young ladies with beautiful bodies that will about to be a part of our company. Do not worry you’re still an apple of the eye to our boss because you’ve been here for how many years.” He said it with a devil like laughs.

“Shut up! You aren’t funny! she hissed. Xiaoxi walks slowly and greets them. “Hello, good day! Maam, Sir! I am Ms. Chen. The two stops talking and let her set for a while. “ Wait for the CEO to come out from the adjacent room, he just takes a call from a client”. Secretary Feng said. Xiaoxi just nodded. She felt uneasy because Zion Ni staring at her. She ignores him.

She sat down at the conference room while trying to calm herself. The sunlight outside the window came in, blurring his figure, like Satan coming out from the adjacent room, it was Rouzhen Gu. Xiaoxi Chen looked back subconsciously and felt nervous.

The man looked at the woman setting the couch with a grey suit, without any makeup, fair- skinned matched with the old fashioned dress. Rouzhen was silent and lower his head, and looked at her with slightly squinting eyes. At this moment, Xiaoxi Chen raised her eyes, and they look at each other but she quickly bowed her head.

There was a moment of shocked, and then Rouzhen Gu asked: “You are Xiaoxi Chen?”

“Yes!” Xiaoxi Chen nodded. Her heart beating faster. Everyone inside the room was stunned, how the CEO asked such an unqualified question. Zion Ni was even more frowning, turned to look at him.

Rouzhen Gu looked at her with sharp eyes in a complicated vision, there is such a moment ethereal. Everyone is waiting for him to ask the next question, but he had not responded for a long time.

“Rhouzhen!” Zion Ni who was next to him kicked him. Rouzhen Gu recovered and said, “Ms. Chen, my question is over you can go out! We will call you if you pass the interview!”

“Oh! Xiaoxi Chen didn’t know what he meant, and she silently goes out. Thinking out why all of a sudden CEO Rouzhen Gu didn’t ask her other questions.

“Rouzhen, what’s wrong with you? You seem out of your mind. '' Zion Ni told him after Xiaoxi Chen left the room.

“She was admitted! Qi Feng call her later and ask her to report immediately! He said it firmly to his secretary and then stood up.  

“Hey! Rouzhen, you haven’t finished the interview yet!” Zion Ni shouted while looking him walking out the door.

“I’m tired, for the rest, you can tell them that I already hired someone. Bye------

Qi Feng and Zion look at each other, they don’t know what happened. How can he hire someone without asking for further details about the person?

Xiaoxi Chen silently praying that she could get the job. But it’s odd because the CEO didn’t ask her any questions at all. She lost her hope because it seems that the CEO dislike her appearance. Later afternoon she received a call from GU Corp secretary informing her that she is accepted and she passed the interview. She was so happy upon hearing the good news because she was hired by a huge company like Gu Corp. A new college graduate like her with no experience could seldom pass any of those big companies. Still, she’s so excited because there will be a better future ahead of her and her son. She’s screaming and jumping after the calls of.

Her young boy comes to her. “Mommy, what happened?”

“Son, mom was admitted!” Xiaoxi Chen smiled and hugged her son. She is so lucky to get a job immediately.

“Wow, congrats Mom. That was great! You are the best mom in the world! Chao claps his small hands and screamed too.

“I am happy that Mommy has a job! He showered tiny kisses on her cheek.

“Haha…” laughter spread throughout the small apartment. “We should celebrate and mom will cook more dishes for you today!

“Okay!” he gives a cute smile.

In the dark private room, the place where the light can’t go through, the man inclined on the couch, with his cold eyes glares at everything around him. The corner of his mouth still sneer and there are already five cigarette butts in the ashtray. Seeing this, he is trying to hide his emotions, obviously, he can’t wait.

He can’t control his mind thinking about her, his pair of eyes with burning fire looking somewhere make him feel empty.

“Hey, Rouzhen! How long have you been waiting?” Zion got into the private room and sat down on the sofa. “ Sorry I came late, I bumped into a pretty lady outside so I’ve chatted with her for a while.”

Rouzhen sneer elegantly extinguished the remaining smoke in his hand in the ashtray and he stood up, throwing a murderous look toward Zion and said: “I’m leaving!”

“Hey, Why you are leaving immediately without telling me what's going on?” Zion Ni shouted and trying to stop him from leaving. He just arrived after they agreed to have a drink. Rouzhen invited him earlier but now he is leaving unreasonably.

“I’ve promised my son Han, that I will accompany him today. You came late so there’s no reason to stay longer.” A faint sentence coming from Rouzhen and then he left.

“Huh! What’s so great about having a son! Leaving me in vain. What the fuck! I will also find someone to give birth to a child so we are equal. Tch! Tch!---this man really annoying sometimes.” Zion Ni said out of desperation.
