Eternal Love
Evangeline Ethare pov.
"What should we do now...?" I couldn't help to anxiously asked my friends.
The four of us are currently discussing about our lightnovel-like situation in Stephan's house.
"Well, shouldn't we just enjoy our new life here?" Said Selene with her carefree smile.
Hahh....Selene is really still as carefree as ever.....It's useless to ask this kind of things to her.....
"Well....that's actually pretty right, it's not like we can go back to our previous world....." Said Giselle.
Well....if Giselle also said so....
Oh, that's right. You must be curious about how the four of us can meet each other again in this world. Our apperance in this world are the same as our apperance in our previous world. That's how the four of us recognized each other for the first time. We first met each other 3 days ago when Duke Clarkson invited all the noble's children to celebrate Stephan's birthday at an orphanage.
"Should we finished our missions like we did in the game?" Asked Stephan with his soft voice.
I chuckle in my heart when I realized that Stephan is also still as timid as he was in our previous life.
"I don't think we should. This is not a game anymore after all. If we die in the mission, we will die for real," said Giselle.
"Ahh... I will choose to not experience that again....." I shivered from the thoughts of having to die again.
Trust me, dying is not a pleasant thing at all.
"Well, I'm pretty sure that we won't die here, as long as we live our life quietly and avoid all the dangerous capture targets," said Giselle.
Stephan and I nod our heads in agreement with Giselle's words.
Giselle is also still as grown up as ever. She is the type that will make people feel safe around her.
It feels really nostalgic since all of them seems like they didn't change at all.
"If I remember correctly, in the game, our first contact with the capture target was when we are about 16 years old, at the hunting ground, right?" Asked Giselle.
Selene nod her head to answer Giselle's question.
"Ah! That mean, as long as we don't go to the hunting ground at that time, we won't meet them, right?!" I asked them with my sparkling eyes.
Giselle nod her head with a smile full of determination.
"Let's live a peaceful life together in this world," said Giselle.
Giselle Ailith pov.
After we finished our discussion in Stephan's house, I bid my farewell to Duke Clarkson and his wife, and immediately go back to my house.
When I arrive at home, both of my parents were already waiting for me in our living room.
"I am back, Mother, Father," I greeted them with a sincere smile on my face.
"Aww~ You're back, my cute little princess," After seeing my return, my father quickly get up from his seat and give me a big hug.
"So? Tell me, what did my little princess do at Duke Clarkson's house today?" Asked my father curiously.
"I'm just having a light chat with the duke's son and his friends, Father," I really hope that my father will end his questions here. What should I do if he ask me about what did we chat about?!
"A light chat? Do you perhaps like the duke's son?!" Asked my father again.
Well, that's pretty random....I'm relieved that he doesn't ask about what did we chat about. But, hey! Is he serious?! He asked me if I like Stephan?! Well, of course I like him, but only as a friend! I don't have any romantic feelings towards him, okay?! But, what should I say now? His question seems more like an accusation to me. If I deny his words, then he will surely ask me more and more questions! Should I just say that I like Stephan then?!
"Ronald, Giselle must be tired from the long journey to Duke Clarkson's house. We should let her rest for now," my lovely mother finally opened her mouth and save me from my father's interrogation.
I look at my mother with my sparkling eyes. Thanks Mother! You are the best!!
My father seems reluctant to let me go, but because my mother start to nag at him, he finally let me go to rest in my room.
"Then, I'll go to my room, good night Father, Mother," I quickly take my leave before my father change his mind.
This day is really tiring.....
After I entered my room, I immediately throw my body to my comfortable bed.
It feels so good to lie down like this after such a tiring day....
Just when I'm about to close my eyes, suddenly I heard a loud sound coming from my balcony. Startled, I jump out from my bed and fixed my eyes on the balcony's door which is covered by curtains.
Oh gosh......
I muster up all my courage and start to faintheartedly walk towards the balcony's door.
"W-who is there?" I tried to calm myself down, but my words are still stuttering.
I can't help it! I'm really scared, you know?! I really want to call for help, but it will surely cause a big commotions! Moreover, it will be really embarrassing if that sound turn out to be just my imagination!
I'm already right in front of my balcony's door now, but no one answer my question.
Maybe it's really just my imagination?
Once again, I muster up my courage and cleave apart the curtains.
No one is in my balcony....
I let out a big sigh from my mouth.
It's really just my imagination after all.... It's a relief that I didn't shout for help before....
I must be really tired that I start to hallucinating things.....
Just when I'm about to close the curtains back, I realized that there is something in the corner of my balcony.
No, it's not a person. I guess it is a....letter...? It was tied to a stone.
Is this the cause of the loud sound before? I think someone want to throw this letter to my balcony, but it hit the balcony's door instead. It makes sense this way.
After once again confirming that there is really no one in my balcony, I open the balcony's door and pick up the letter.
That was my initial plan, but once I step out to the balcony, an arrow in high speed immediately fly towards me. I tried to dodge it, but in the end it still wound my left shoulder. Well, it is already a relief that it didn't pierce my heart though. But still, this is so damn hurts.
After that arrow pierced my left shoulder, I try my best to move away from the balcony and shout for help.
Hearing my shout, my father, mother, and the guards immediately barge in to my room. They are very shocked to see my condition.
"What happened to you, Giselle?!! Hurry and summon the doctor!!" My father is in panic to see my condition. He order the guards to immediately bring some doctors for me.
Bloods keep coming out from my wounded shoulder and my head start to get dizzy.
It hurts.....
That was the last thing that I can remember berfore everything goes dark.
Stephan Clarkson pov.
Today, after Eline, Giselle, and Selene left, I fell from the stairs and sprained my ankle. It's indeed a bit hurt to walk, but my mother exaggerate it and end up dragging Doctor Greyham, our country's best doctor to our house.
"How is my son's condition, doctor?" Asked my mother worriedly.
"Don't worry Duchess Clarkson, your son just sprained his ankle. I already applied some medicine, he will be okay after several days of rest," said Doctor Greyham with a smile.
"Really?? That's a relief....." answered my mother with a relieved smile on her face.
After Doctor Greyham finished my treatment, suddenly a white pigeon with a letter tied on its foot come to my room. It seems that it come for Doctor Greyham.
Doctor Greyham's eyes widened as he read that letter.
"What's wrong doctor?" Asked my mother.
"It seems that Earl Ailith's daughter was attacked by an assassin. He need me to come and treat her as soon as possible," said Doctor Greyham worriedly.
My eyes widened in shocked to hear his statement. Earl Ailith only has one daughter. And it is Giselle.
"A-assassin....?" I feel like my head is starting to spin now.
"Eh? Do you know her, Young Master?" Asked Doctor Greyham who seem to notice my shocked expression.
At that time I was too shocked to answer his question, but Doctor Greyham still explained Giselle's condition to me.
"Her shoulder was shot by an arrow. It's looks like her condition is pretty bad and no doctor could treat her injuries," said Doctor Greyham.
"Oh my....what should we do? Earl Ailith's house is very far from here, you will need at least two hours to go there," said my mother worriedly.
"That's right, I'm afraid it will be too late when I arrived," said Doctor Greyham with a sad face.
"But still, I will try my best. I'll take my leave now Duchess Clarkson, Young Master," Doctor Greyham run to his carriage after he bid his farewell to us.
This won't do! Two hours is way too long! I'm not sure if Giselle will be able to wait for that long!
What should I do? What should I do?!!
I rack my brain and try my best to find a way to help Giselle.
"Ah! Mother, how far is the Leonardo Orphanage from Earl Ailith's house?" I asked my mother in a hurried voice.
"Hm...it's pretty close I think, maybe about 5 minutes walk?" Answered my mother.
That's it!
After I heard my mother's answer, I jump out from my bed and run straight to the study room.
"Stephan! What are you doing?! You need to rest! Your ankle still haven't fully recovered yet!" Shouted my mother worriedly.
"Sorry mother, I need to do something important!" I said that without slowing my pace.
The pain in my ankle is nothing compared to Giselle's life.
After I arrived at the study room, I lock the door to prevent any disturbance and start to write a letter to Leonardo Orphanage.
I send that letter with a pigeon and pray.
"Please save Giselle's life....."
Selene Maeve pov.
Today, after the discussion with Eline, Giselle, and Stephan ended, I go back to Leonardo Orphanage with a carriage.
Ah...did I forget to tell you that I'm an orphan?
It took two hours to go back to the orphanage from Stephan's house.
I'm dead tired.....
Moreover, about 40 minutes after I arrived at the orphanage, suddenly I was summoned by the orphanage's head, Lady Georgia.
"Lady Georgia? Did you call for me?" I asked her.
"Yes, Selene, there is a letter for you from Duke Clarkson's son," answered her.
I received the letter and thanked her for delivering it to me, "Thank you Lady Georgia."
"You're welcome, Selene, you can go back to your room now," said her.
"Okay then, good night Lady Georgia," I run back to my room after giving her a smile.
"Good night, Selene," replied her with the same smile.
After I went back to my room, I quickly open Stephan's letter and read it.
My eyes widened as I read that letter.
Ignoring the orphanage curfew, I grab my bag and run towards Earl Ailith's house as fast as I can.
At Earl Ailith's house, I am stopped by their guards.
"I'm Giselle's friend! Please let me through!!" I desperately asked them to let me in.
"We're sorry young lady, but our master is not receiving any guest right now," said one of the guard.
There's really no choice then. I put on a mask, take out a bottle of halothane from my bag and spray it to the guards face. Of course, they immediately lose their consciousness. I do that to every person that try to stop me, including Earl Ailith and his wife.
It seems that the arrow that pierce Giselle's shoulder is poisoned. I try to identified the poison and make the antidote as fast as I can. I give her some painkiller, pull out the arrow, suck out all the poison, clean her wound, stop the bleeding, scrape the dead tissue around the wound, apply the antidote to her wound, and bandage it. I also give her blood transfusion and inject the antidote to her body.
It takes about 30 minutes for Giselle to regain her consciousness.
"Selene...?" Giselle looked surprised to see me.
"Giselle? Are you okay? Do you feel any discomfort anywhere?" I asked Giselle worriedly.
Giselle weakly shake her head.
Thank goodness.....
.....But, now.....what should we do with all this mess in Earl Ailith's house?
