Four

I woke up and stretched my body then I remembered the dream I had last night.

'What a weird dream' I thought.

When I opened my eyes familiar sight of ancient room met my eye. But this time no one was crying next to me. I sat up and looked around the room and noticed same young girl from last time folding some clothes.

"Hey..." I called her.

"Oh empress... you woke up. Royal physician Shuang said your highness should rest for a while since your body is weak from the incidence.... Wait there empress, I will bring some water..." She said and rushed out of the room.

I got up from the bed and looked around the room. I was really beautiful. There was a ancient vanity table in a corner of the room. When I checked it there was a round bronze plate on top of it. After checking it I realized it was a mirror. Even though it wasn't same as a modern mirror, one side of it was shiny polished. Thanking God for the opportunity I checked my reflection.

"What the heck!" I almost screamed.

The girl in the mirror didn't look like me at all. She had porcelain skin not even a single blemish scaring her skin. Her black eyes were beautiful and doe like, and she also had shiny, black, long hair.

'How is this possible? This Asian beauty couldn't be me...'

Shocked I sat on the chair still holding the mirror.

"Your highness! Why did you get up from the bed? You should rest..."

Somewhat familiar voice shook me out of my trance. It was the servant girl and she was holding tray with a bowl of water and white clothe.

"Ah um it's alright. I am fine..."

I replied shaking my head a bit. My own words felt foreign to me. Well it should be I am speaking in Chinese.

The girl nodded her head silently and helped me with washing my face and clean up. I still was overwhelmed by everything happening. Then she brought a bowl porridge.

"Mr. Shuang said that your highness should eat light food. You don't have to worry my empress I cooked it myself..."

She said handing me the bowl of porridge.

I quickly finished eating and drank water. You can't blame me because at that point I was starving to death.

"So I don't know how to start this.... But what is your name?"

I asked the girl who helped me this whole time and it was her time to be shocked.

"What...! Wha-What do mean your highness? It's me, your personal maid Huyin"

She stammered with eyes wide like saucers.

"Um actually Huyin... What happened last night? I think I lost my memory..."

And this time her mouth fell open from the shock. Poor girl.

Huyin straighten up and rushed to the door.

"Wait Huyin... Where are going?" I stopped the now paled girl.

"Your highness, please wait here. I'll call royal physician here..."
