The air thickened, pressing against his skin. Cold fingers—not his—brushed against his wrist, curling gently but firmly. The touch was real. Too real.
A whisper drifted into his ear, soft, low, possessive.
Voice
"You belong to me." ~~❄️
Kai stiffened. His fingers twitched, wanting to shove whatever it was away, but he couldn't move. The unseen grip on his wrist tightened slightly, then... released.
The portrait’s expression returned to normal.
The air shifted back to its suffocating stillness.

A deep creak groaned through the walls. The chandelier rattled.

(Exhaled, sharp and controlled. His eyes swept the room, lingering on the portrait before settling on Kai.)

(Calm, but firm): "Step away from it. Now."

The temperature plummeted. Their breaths misted in the dim light.

A soft click sounded behind them.
The door—the only exit—was shut. Locked.
Izzy’s grip on Noah get more tightened.
A presence pressed closer, a shadow he couldn't see but could feel, lingering near his ear.
Voice
(Low, teasing): "Leaving so soon?"~~❄️
His body screamed at him to run, but his legs wouldn’t listen.
A faint touch ghosted over his neck, trailing down his shoulder. A shudder rocked through him.

(Gritted teeth): 😬 "Who... are you?"

A chuckle—dark, amused.

"You’ll find out. Soon."~~😏❄️
A cold breath caressed his skin. Then—
Leo moved first. He grabbed Kairos’ arm and pulled him back, breaking whatever trance he was in.

(Low, serious): "What the hell just happened?" 🤨😟
Kairos' pulse pounded in his ears. He shook his head, swallowing hard.

(Quietly): "I don’t know."
A heavy silence stretched between them.

"We’re not alone here."
Another creak echoed, deep and resonant.
Somewhere in the shadows, something moved.
