TO KILL FOR HER
Her narrow eyes scanned the surroundings, for any sign of threat. Her muscles were taut, and her jaws clenched tight. The forest was still, silent. Except for the shallow breaths I struggled to control and the soft rustling of leaves beneath. The trees looked tall and dense, their shadows casting eerie figures on the damp ground.
She stood far, her body still, but the faint tension in her shoulders spoke of an alertness that contradicts her calm demeanor. Her fingers wrapped around the gun with precious, each movement fluid and deliberate. It was clear she'd held held one before. She didn't just know how to shoot, she was a marksman. The sudden crack of gun fire shattered the silence. My heart raced as the sound sliced through the air from my left. A bullet whizzed by, narrowly missing. Someone had tried to kill me, but they'd failed.
I knew whoever it was would take another shot, this time with a steadier aim, but I didn't move. I couldn't. It wasn't fear that held me in place, but something deeper, something out of my control. I kept my eyes locked on her, unwilling to look away for the fear she might vanish into the darkness. My instincts screamed to turn around and fire at the person behind me, but I stayed frozen.
She, the woman in black, her face partially obscured by shadows, stared back at me. A silver gleam traced the curves of her features, catching the light on strange flashes. Her eyes remained fixed on me, unblinking, yet I could sense her attention shift to something behind me. Without warning, she lifted her hand and aimed the gun at my left side, firing in one fluid motion. A dull thud echoed, followed by the rustling of leaves. Her aim was flawless, just as I'd expected it to be. She began to walk towards me, each step measured. I couldn't look away.
Her presence was so magnetic. Her posture, so serene, so controlled. It captured me in a way no woman ever had. She was almost upon me now, mere inches away. And yet I wanted her to be closer. I wanted to see every detail of her face, her body, the curves of her hair, every inch of her.
She didn't say anything and I was too stunned by her beauty to begin. She was tall and imposing, her figure was draped in black from head to toe, a fluid, almost liquid darkness that seemed to absorb the light around her. Her skin, in stark contrast, was fair almost unnaturally so flawless as smooth as marble. Beneath that pale facade, there was coldness that could freeze anyone who dared to look to closely.
She had the kind of beauty that could kill, it wasn't the soft and gentle allure of beauty, it was the kind of beauty that made people freeze in place. Paralyzed by fear and admiration all at once. Finally, I said in a low voice,
"You're different from anyone I've ever met"
I studied her intently, trying to keep my composure as her beauty leaves me speechless.
She teased me with a slight smirk, her eyes glinting for the first time in the moon light.
"Is that so? And what exactly do you think you see?"
She leans in slightly, her stance still cold. My heart starts to race but i remain calm.
I tilted my head, I was amused as she stared into my eyes, a smirk formed on my face too. I replied her waiting eyes,
"Something dangerous head beautiful I couldn't look away from the second my eyes laid on you."
There was something in her, really, her eyes kept me transfixed. She tilted her head and her smirk became evil, as she was mocking me. She spoke in a teasing tone,
"Dangerous? You've barely scratched the surface Maverick Brixton."
She stared into my eyes for the last time and moved to a side. I stood there trying to understand what she meant and when I look around, she was no where to be seen.
She knew my name, the way she said it took my breath away. With her lips, dark and full who curved done to the faintest of smiles. It was a smile reserved for the pray she toyed with. Her beauty was a weapon, a blade wrapped in silk.
The way she tilted her head, the way she stepped forward, the way her fingers moved just slightly when she reached for something, she was a force of nature. A killer draped in the illusion of elegance.
