Chapter 5:The Clone That Broke Tony Stark

Chapter 5: The Clone That Broke Tony Stark

Tony Stark had seen a lot of crazy things in his life. He had built a suit of armor in a cave, fought gods, traveled through a wormhole, and faced an army of aliens. But nothing—nothing—could have prepared him for this.

It was early morning in Stark Tower. The sun was just beginning to rise over New York, casting an orange glow over the city. Tony, still half-asleep, made his way to the training area, expecting to find Naruto and Hinata practicing hand-to-hand combat or maybe sparring.

Instead, he walked into a scene that nearly gave him a stroke.

There were twenty Narutos in the room. All identical. All moving.

For a full five seconds, Tony just stared. His brain flatlined. His coffee slipped from his hand, shattering on the floor.

Then, finally, he found his voice.

“WHAT. THE. HELL.”

Naruto, standing in the middle of his own army of clones, turned with a grin. "Oh, hey, Tony! Check it out—Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Tony blinked rapidly. "I—You—What?!"

The clones all turned toward him in unison and waved. "Morning!"

Tony nearly had an aneurysm. He stumbled backward, rubbing his eyes. "J.A.R.V.I.S., tell me I’m hallucinating."

"I’m afraid not, sir."

Tony pointed dramatically. “Are you multiplying yourself?! What kind of biological nightmare is this?! Are you cloning matter?! Are you warping space?! ARE YOU BREAKING EVERY LAW OF PHYSICS?!"

Naruto laughed. “Relax! It’s just basic ninjutsu.”

Tony grabbed his head. “BASIC?! You’re telling me you can duplicate yourself like a video game glitch and that’s basic?!”

J.A.R.V.I.S. spoke again. "Sir, scans confirm that each duplicate is a fully tangible, functioning entity. Their mass is identical to the original. However, their energy levels fluctuate and seem to be directly linked to the source inside Naruto himself."

Tony’s hands dropped to his sides. "You're telling me... this guy can create physical clones of himself at will?"

"Correct, sir."

Tony exhaled. "I hate magic."

Testing the Limits

Once Tony recovered from the initial shock, he did what any good scientist would do—he started testing.

“Alright,” Tony said, pacing the training room. “So let me get this straight. You make clones, they’re real, and they can think, act, and function like you?”

Naruto nodded. “Yep! They can even fight.”

A clone stepped forward and demonstrated a few punches and kicks, moving with perfect synchronization.

Tony frowned. “Okay, but do they last? What happens if I do this—”

Before anyone could react, Tony grabbed a metal wrench from the workbench and threw it straight at one of the clones. The wrench passed through his head with a poof! The clone exploded in a puff of smoke, vanishing instantly.

Naruto pouted. “Hey! That’s rude.”

Tony stared at the empty space where the clone had been. “You have got to be kidding me.”

Hinata, who had been silently watching, giggled. "It's how his clones work. They disappear if they take enough damage."

Tony took a deep breath. "Okay. Okay. I can work with this."

Then he smirked. "So... hypothetically, if I asked you to make, say, a hundred clones and had them work on my Iron Man suits, how fast could they finish?"

Naruto’s eyes lit up. “Oh, that sounds awesome!”

Seconds later, a swarm of clones flooded the lab.

"Wait, WAIT, I WAS KIDDING!" Tony yelped, but it was too late.

Naruto’s clones were already touching everything.

One of them picked up an arc reactor. "Ooooh, shiny!"

Another one was pressing buttons on a control panel. “I wonder what this does?”

Tony’s face drained of color. “NO—"

BOOM!

A repulsor beam fired across the room, blasting another clone into the wall.

"Sorry!"

Tony ran a hand down his face. "I need a drink."

Science vs. Ninjutsu

After Naruto dismissed most of his clones (at Tony’s very aggressive insistence), they sat down in the lab to discuss what the hell just happened.

"So," Tony said, arms crossed, "explain to me—scientifically—how you’re doing this."

Naruto blinked. "Uh... chakra?"

Tony stared. “That’s it?”

Naruto shrugged. “Yeah. I mold chakra, make a hand sign, and boom—clones.”

Tony groaned. “That tells me nothing."

Hinata smiled. “Chakra is our life energy. It allows us to enhance our bodies, control elements, and in Naruto’s case, create physical clones.”

Tony leaned back, processing that. "So you’re telling me that if I somehow figured out how to use chakra, I could make clones of myself?"

Hinata hesitated. "Um… probably not. Chakra is something we’ve trained in since childhood. Plus, Naruto has an unusually large amount of it."

Tony smirked. "So you’re saying I’d need years of training to pull it off?"

Naruto grinned. "Yep!"

Tony sighed. “Damn it. I was already planning on making Stark clones to run my company for me.”

Naruto laughed. “You’d be unstoppable!”

Tony smirked. “Oh, I already am. This would just make me extra unstoppable.”

Bonding Over Genius

Despite the chaos, Tony found himself fascinated by Naruto’s abilities.

He spent hours studying the chakra system, comparing it to arc reactor energy. The more he learned, the more intrigued he became.

Naruto, in turn, was obsessed with Tony’s technology.

“So wait, you just fly in this thing?” Naruto asked, pointing at an Iron Man suit.

"Yep," Tony said. "Built-in repulsors, full combat AI, and flight stabilization. It’s a beauty."

Naruto whistled. “Man, if I had one of these back home, I’d be Hokage in no time."

Tony smirked. “Kid, if you had one of these back home, your entire world would be in trouble.”

Naruto grinned. "True."

For the first time in a long time, Tony actually enjoyed having someone around who could keep up with his energy.

And for Naruto? Stark Tower was starting to feel like home.

The Nightmares Return

Despite the laughter, Tony’s PTSD still lingered.

That night, after working in the lab for hours, he found himself staring at his own reflection in the glass. The memories of the Battle of New York haunted him—drifting into space, unable to breathe, the overwhelming sense of helplessness.

He clenched his fists. He hated feeling weak.

A voice snapped him out of it.

"You okay?"

Naruto stood at the doorway, arms crossed.

Tony exhaled. “Yeah. Just… thinking.”

Naruto stepped forward, leaning on the railing next to him. "I used to get nightmares too."

Tony glanced at him. "Yeah?"

Naruto nodded. “After the war. After everything. I’d see their faces in my dreams—the people I lost, the things I couldn’t stop."

Tony swallowed. “…And?”

Naruto smiled. “I realized I wasn’t alone."

Tony stared at him for a long moment.

Then, he smirked. "You’re annoying, you know that?"

Naruto grinned. "Yeah. But I’m right."

Tony rolled his eyes. But somehow, for the first time in a long time, the nightmares didn’t seem as bad.
