Who I Am to You

Who I Am to You

The mirror twist

As he trudged wearily to the mirror, the weight of his terrible day bore down on him. He glared at his reflection, his eyes blazing with frustration

"Stupid mirror," he muttered, his voice laced with disdain. "Why would you show me myself? Can't you see I'm having a horrible day?"

As he spoke, a strange, unsettling sensation washed over him. The mirror's surface rippled, like water disturbed by a stone. His reflection began to warp and distort, its eyes glinting with an otherworldly light.

Suddenly, the mirror's surface seemed to shudder, and the reflection stepped out of the glass. The man stumbled backward, shocked, as his reflection took his place in front of the mirror.

But something was off. The reflection was... different. Its eyes sparkled with mischief, and its smile was tinged with a sly, knowing glint.

The man's eyes widened as he realized, with a jolt of shock, that he was now standing in the mirror, staring out at his reflection – which was now occupying his body.

"What the...?" he trailed off, his mind reeling with the implications.

The reflection, now in the man's body, turned to face him, a wicked grin spreading across its face.

"Looks like we're switching places, buddy," it said, its voice low and menacing. "You're going to have to navigate my life now. And I'm going to enjoy every minute of being you."

The man's eyes locked onto the reflection, his mind racing with fear and uncertainty. What had he just gotten himself into?

As the man's reflection took control of his body, it grinned mischievously and said, "Bud, I'll take care of our body, don't worry."

But the man, now trapped in the mirror, panicked. "Aaahh! I don't want to get stuck here! I don't want to be trapped!"

The reflection, still grinning, reassured him, "Don't worry, we can switch back. But for now, I'll take care of our body and do your work, of course."

The man's reflection paused, thinking for a moment before adding, "You can come out of the mirror only at midnight. That's when we can switch back."

The man's face contorted in frustration, but he knew he had no choice. He was trapped.

"Fine," he muttered, resigned to his fate. "But be careful with our body. Don't do anything stupid."

The reflection chuckled. "Scout's honor, buddy. I'll take good care of us."

As the reflection walked away, whistling a jaunty tune, the man was left alone in the mirror, staring out at the world he could no longer touch.

As the reflection, now in control of the man's body, stood outside the office building, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and liberation.

He adjusted his clothes, smoothed out his hair, and flashed a confident smile at his reflection in a nearby window.

The reflection's eyes gleamed with a mischievous spark, and his aura seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy. As he walked into the office, heads turned, and conversations paused.

People couldn't help but stare at the man, now radiating an intense, almost palpable aura. Some felt drawn to him, while others sensed something unsettling, even terrifying.

A coworker, Sarah, approached him, her eyes wide with a mix of fascination and fear. "Hey, what's... going on with you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The reflection chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Just a good morning, that's all," he said, his voice low and smooth.

Sarah took a step back, her eyes darting around the room as if searching for an escape route. "Okay... well, welcome to the meeting, then."

As the reflection took his seat, the atmosphere in the room shifted, becoming heavier, more charged. People exchanged nervous glances, sensing that something was off, but unable to quite put their finger on what it was.

The reflection, meanwhile, leaned back in his chair, a self-satisfied smile spreading across his face. He was loving every minute of this.

As the meeting began, the reflection stood up, his eyes scanning the room with an unnerving intensity. "Let's get down to business," he said, his voice firm and commanding.

The employees exchanged shocked glances, taken aback by the sudden change in demeanor. The man they knew was always soft-spoken, kind, and considerate, often to a fault.

But the person standing before them now was a different story altogether. His words were laced with an icy coldness, his tone brooking no argument.

As he spoke, his voice seemed to cut through the air, leaving no room for discussion or debate. The employees found themselves nodding along, even when they disagreed, simply because his words were so authoritative.

Sarah, who had always been friendly with the man, felt a shiver run down her spine as their eyes met. There was something unnerving about the way he seemed to bore into her soul, as if daring her to contradict him.

The meeting continued, with the reflection dominating the conversation, his words slicing through any opposition. The employees were stunned, unsure of how to react to this new, assertive version of their coworker.

As the meeting drew to a close, the reflection's eyes seemed to gleam with a malevolent light, as if he knew a secret that no one else did. The employees breathed a collective sigh of relief as the meeting finally adjourned, eager to escape the unsettling atmosphere that had settled over the room.

As the meeting adjourned and the employees began to file out, one of them, Alex, suddenly yelped in pain and clutched at his ankle.

"I think I sprained my foot," he groaned, hopping on one leg.

The reflection, still exuding an aura of confidence and authority, strode over to Alex and grasped his arm, supporting him.

"Let me help you," he said, his voice low and smooth, but with a hint of something else beneath the surface.

As they walked out of the conference room together, some of the other employees couldn't help but stare. They had heard the reflection badmouthing Alex just a few days ago, and yet, here he was, helping him with an injury.

One employee, Rachel, whispered to another, "What's going on? I thought he couldn't stand Alex."

Her coworker, Jake, shrugged. "I don't know, but something's definitely off about him today."

As they watched, the reflection helped Alex to the elevator and pressed the button for him. The two of them stepped inside, and the doors closed behind them.

The other employees were left staring at each other in confusion, wondering what was behind the reflection's sudden change of heart.

As they arrived at the emergency room, the reflection gently laid Alex down on the bed. Alex looked up at him, grateful, and said, "Thank you, sir."

He started to bow, but the reflection waved him off. "No problem, just get better soon."

The reflection turned to the nurse and instructed, "Treat him carefully."

The nurse nodded promptly. "Yes, sir, I will."

As the nurse began to examine Alex's ankle, he couldn't help but think about the reflection's sudden kindness. His mind wandered, and he thought to himself, "Ahhh, my idol helped me... I'll do whatever he wants."

The nurse's voice brought him back to reality. "Hey, are you okay?"

Alex nodded, still feeling a bit dazed. "Yes, I'm okay... I just sprained my ankle."

The nurse smiled reassuringly. "Okay, I'll take care of you. The boss said to cure you, so don't worry."

Alex's eyes widened slightly at the mention of the boss, but he didn't say anything. He just lay back and let the nurse do her job, his mind still reeling from the unexpected turn of events.

As Alex lay on the bed, he couldn't shake off the thought of why the reflection, who was now occupying the boss's body, would help him. He was just a low-level employee, after all.

"He must be kind," Alex thought to himself. "That's why he helped me."

The nurse's voice brought him back to reality. "All done! You're good to go."

Alex thanked her and bowed, feeling a bit more energized now that his ankle was treated.

As he turned to leave, he caught a glimpse of the reflection, still busy typing away on his laptop. But then, he heard the sound of the door opening, and the reflection looked up, a hint of a smile on his face.

"Hey, Alex. Are you okay now?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.

Alex felt a shiver run down his spine as he met the reflection's gaze. There was something unnerving about the way he seemed to see right through him.

"Yes, I'm fine, thank you," Alex replied, trying to sound calm.

The reflection nodded, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Good. Come in, let's talk."

Alex hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to expect. But then, he stepped inside, feeling a sense of trepidation wash over him.

The reflection smiled and said, "Hey, um, I'll take you to your office, if it's okay with you now."

Alex shook his head, feeling a bit uneasy about the boss's sudden concern for him. "Amm, no need, boss. I can manage my ankle. Thank you in advance, boss."

The reflection nodded, seeming to accept Alex's refusal. "Alright, take care then."

As Alex walked back to his office, he couldn't help but think about how he had just rejected the boss's help. It wasn't like him to turn down an offer of assistance, especially from someone as powerful as the boss.

But something about the reflection's behavior had put him on edge. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he felt like the reflection was hiding something.

The reflection, meanwhile, watched Alex walk away, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Interesting," he murmured to himself.

He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. He had work to do, and not a lot of time to do it in. As the time grew darker, he knew he had to complete his tasks before heading home.

He glanced at his watch, reminding himself of the promise he had made to the original owner of the body. He would have to relinquish control at midnight, allowing the true owner to reclaim his body.

The reflection's eyes gleamed with a hint of mischief as he turned back to his work. He had a few hours left before midnight, and he intended to make the most of them.

As the reflection prepared to leave the office, he turned to his employees and said, "Goodbye, everyone. Have a great evening."

The employees exchanged surprised glances, whispering to each other as the reflection walked out.

"I don't get it," one employee said. "He was so terrifying this morning, but now he's being all nice and friendly."

"I know, right?" another employee replied. "Must be because he's in a bad mood or something."

But then, a few employees chimed in, defending the boss. "No way, boss is kind! He always helps us out."

"I know, right? He's the best boss ever!"

Alex, the boy the reflection had helped earlier, nodded in agreement. "Yes, boss is kind. He helped me this morning."

The reflection, who was about to walk out the door, caught wind of the conversation and couldn't help but grin. He felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing that his plan to manipulate the employees' perception of him was working.

He walked out of the office, whistling a tune, feeling confident that he had successfully pulled off his charade. Little did he know, the true owner of the body was waiting for him, eager to reclaim his rightful place...

As the reflection walked into the house, he was greeted by the curious stares of the maid and other household staff. But he ignored them, his eyes fixed on the stairs leading up to the mirror.

He smirked to himself, knowing that Keith, the original owner of the body, was trapped in the mirror, waiting for him.

As he reached the top of the stairs, he saw Keith's frustrated face staring back at him from the mirror.

"Give me back my body now," Keith growled, his eyes blazing with anger. "It's already midnight."

The reflection chuckled, clearly enjoying Keith's distress. "Ah, Keith, Keith, Keith... you're so predictable."

He walked closer to the mirror, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I'll give you back your body, of course... but don't think this is the end of our little game."

Keith's face twisted in rage, but the reflection just smiled and raised his hands, as if surrendering. "Midnight, as promised."

As the clock struck midnight, the reflection's body began to shimmer and distort, and Keith felt himself being pulled back into his own body.
