Chapter 2: You Thought I Was Dead?
[Thick. Suffocating. Laced with disbelief.]
[An Yue steps into the grand dining hall like she owns it. Because she does.]
An jianhong (fl dad)
[Voice sharp, controlled.] You— [His grip tightens around his glass.]
[He stops. Because the daughter he discarded should be rotting in a grave.]
An yue (fl)
[Slow smirk.] What’s wrong, Father? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.
[A knife to the gut would’ve been kinder.]
[The reactions are delicious.]
[Uncle An Zheng, the power-hungry snake, looks like he’s about to choke on his wine.]
[Cousin An Meilin, the fake, sits frozen, her nails digging into her palm.]
[Half-brother An Chengwei, the spoiled brat, stares in open shock—because he was supposed to inherit everything.]
An yue (fl)
[Mock disappointment.] No warm welcome? No tears of joy?
An yue (fl)
[Clicks tongue.] And here I thought family was everything.
[Silence. Bitter. Ashen. A family reunion dipped in venom.]
An Meilin (fl cousin)
[Spits out, venomous.] How are you alive?
An yue (fl)
[Laughs. Low. Dangerous.] Surprised? Did you think I’d stay buried just because you wanted me gone?
[Meilin flinches. An Zheng's jaw clenches. Chengwei grips his fork like it’s a weapon.]
[They wanted her erased. Forgotten. A bad memory swept under the rug.]
An yue (fl)
I don’t die so easily.
An jianhong (fl dad)
[Cold. Dismissive.] Why are you here?
An yue (fl)
You’re right. Let’s get to the point. [She strides forward—slow, deliberate. Then—she pulls out a chair at the head of the table.]
[The air turns razor-sharp.]
An jianhong (fl dad)
[Steel-edged.] That is not your seat.
An yue (fl)
[Smirks, tilting her head.] Neither was my inheritance, but that didn’t stop you from handing it over to them. [A lazy wave at her uncle and cousin.]
[A hit. A clean strike. Zheng stiffens. Meilin’s face twists in fury.]
An yue (fl)
[Leaning forward, elbows on the table.] So… let’s talk.
[They expected a weak girl, crawling back for scraps.]
[A ghost who crawled out of her grave—ready to set the world on fire.]
An jianhong (fl dad)
[Flat. Dismissive.] You have no place in this family anymore.
[The final rejection, spoken like a death sentence.]
[It would’ve shattered the old An Yue.]
An yue (fl)
[Laughs. Soft. Amused.] Cute.
[She leans back, crossing one leg over the other—effortless dominance.]
An yue (fl)
But I don’t recall asking for permission.
[The weight of her words drops like a bomb.]
[They’re not in control anymore.]
An yue (fl)
Here’s how this is going to work.
An yue (fl)
I still own 30% of An Corporation.
[Zheng’s eyes widen. Meilin’s fingers twitch. Chengwei looks like he’s seen a ghost.]
An yue (fl)
Which means I can walk into any board meeting and rip your little empire apart.
[Silence. Thick. Charged.]
An yue (fl)
Unless, of course… [She tilts her head, all mock innocence.] You give me what’s mine.
[They thought they buried her.]
[She came back to dig their graves instead.]
