Red Bloods (English Version)

Prologue

'Long ago, in this beautiful world, there lived all kinds of magical creatures. In the beautiful sky at that time, fairies were flying looking for flowers. Below the ground, there were the voices of the dwarves building long tunnels. And on the high seas, the mermaids sing with the dolphins. However, that beautiful world was shattered by the devil's greed who wanted to rule over all realms. They burned the green forest to ashes, polluted the clear seas with poison and blood, and turning fertile land into deserts. Destruction, hatred, despair, have turned that beautiful world into a very dark world. Of all the creatures, there was only one being who dared to face the demon nation. The creature was named human. Even though the human race was not born with abundant magical gifts like other creatures at that time, the human race was determined to end the devil's greed. Thanks to the strong determination of the human race, the other creatures finally rose and united to fight against the demons. With all the creatures in the world united, they finally found a way to fight the demon nation by seizing all their magic power. Then with the skill of the dwarves, they are made various kinds of weapons to steal the demons’ magic power. The elves with their grace, sealing the demons’ magic power in rock and broke the rock into pieces. Then with the cleverness of the fairy, the stone fragments were hidden in various places throughout the world. Without their magic power, the demons began to weaken and eventually was defeated by the human race. However, since then, all the beings in the world decided to divide the world into several realms, the elves and fairies with their abundant magical powers resided in the heaven realm. The human race, dwarves, and other creatures remain in the realm of the world to restore a world condition that was very damaged due to the war. And the demon race and its greed are exiled to the realm of hell. Thanks to that war, the human race was finally given the gift of magic from nature to rebuild a life in the natural world. Time passed until the world returned to the beautiful as before. The dwarves and other creatures decide to live elsewhere and hide so that humans can enjoy that beautiful world without interference from their nations as a tribute to the resistance against the demons. And in the end, this beautiful world is only inhabited by humans who have been gifted with magic from nature and live happily. Even though, deep in the hell realm, the demons still holds a grudge against the human race and vows to avenge it.'

"The end," said a woman to a child who was fast asleep.

The woman is the mother of the child. She reads a fairly well-known story to her son as a bedtime story. After the woman read the story, the boy fell asleep very soundly on his bed. The woman must have covered her child and kissed him on the forehead. Then she turned off the light in her child's bedroom which was made of wood and walked toward the door.

"Sweet dreams, Alvin," said her before shutting the door.

The next day... **In a village called the Ram Village,**

"Alvin!!" shouted a girl calling her friend.

"Valerie?" Alvin replied while turning towards the girl who called him.

"Alvin, your father came home today right?" asked the girl.

"Of course, he promised to go home today," replied Alvin.

"No wonder you look happy today." said a boy who came from behind Alvin with his two friends.

"Leo?" Alvin turned around.

"Hi Alvin!” one of the other kids greeted Alvin.

“Tobias, hi! Robin, you too” Alvin greeted the two boys who came with Leo.

"I think it's been a while since your father left the village," Leo said.

“Your father is an adventurer, right? He must have brought lots of gifts from his adventures,” asked Tobias.

"Just by going home, I'm happy enough. But if he brings a gift in the form of food, I will share it with you" replied Alvin.

"Aah... You are indeed my best friend who can be relied on" said Tobias, hugging Alvin.

"Toby was after those words from the start, Alvin. You can't be too nice to him." Robin said.

"Robin! That is not true! After all, Alvin and I are friends who are like brothers. Right, Alvin?" Tobias asked.

"Y-yes... maybe..." replied Alvin doubtfully.

"Hey! Is that your answer?" Tobias was a little disappointed.

"Hahaha...." Leo laughed at Alvin's answer.

From a distance, they could hear the villagers who were gathered to talk about something. Alvin and his curious friends finally decided to take a look.

"Right! I saw it myself!" said a man who was a farmer in the village.

"Sir, what happened?" Leo asked a man beside him.

"He saw a monster at the edge of the forest," replied the man.

"Monster?!" the children were shocked.

“You kids should just go play. It's an adult problem,” said the man.

Alvin and his friends finally decided to get away from the crowd.

“Monster? How come there are monsters nearby?” Tobias asked.

“That's right, this village is inside a protective magic circle. Which monster can’t enter the magic circle, right?” Leo asked.

"Alvin, I'm scared," said Valerie.

"Don’t worry, we don't need to discuss this. Let the adults take care of it," said Alvin.

"Alvin!!" shouted someone calling Alvin.

Alvin also looked at the person who called him. The person kept calling Alvin while waving his hand.

"Alvin!!" shouted a man who called Alvin while waving his hand.

"D-dad?!" Alvin was surprised because what he saw was his father who had long since left the village.

“Alvin!! Father is home, son!!" the father shouted.

"Daaad!!" shouted Alvin as he ran towards his father.

Alvin ran to his father whom he hadn’t seen for a long time. Alvin immediately jumped and hugged his father so that his father could not hold Alvin and fell. After a while, Alvin let go of his arms and invited his father to go home immediately where his mother was waiting for them. After arriving, the mother was surprised to see her husband, who had been away for a long time, finally returned home. They also gathered together in the house while talking about their father's experience.

"I'll make your favorite dish, wait a minute," Said Mariam, Alvin's mother.

"Hmm... it's been a while since I tasted your delicious food, please make a lot of it" Alfred, the father begged his wife.

"Dad! Dad! Tell me about your work!" Alvin is very curious about his father's job as an adventurer.

“Looks like you are very curious about my job. Before that, take a look at this!” Alfred gave something to Alvin.

"A card?" asked Alvin.

"It's not just any card, it's an adventurer's license card!" answered Alfred.

“Woow… so you are indeed an adventurer? At first, I thought you went to the capital to become a shop clerk or something,” said Alvin.

“I am was originally just a shop clerk in the capital. Didn't you read the letter from me?" asked Alfred.

"Every time you send a letter, it's just '(Hi, honey, Alvin, how are you? Father will immediately take you to stay in the capital after we have a lot of money.)' Everything in your letter is just that. So, whenever we receive a letter from you, we just keep it and only take the money you give,” Miriam replied.

“Ah, haha… sorry. I'm just not good at writing letters. But how can you only take my salary without reading the letter in it? What if it was a message when I was in danger?" asked Alfred.

"The contents of your letters are all like that. So, what else can we do?" replied Miriam.

"But we never worried, we believe that you are strong!" said Alvin.

"Is it true?" asked Alfred.

"Right! Mom always said 'Don't worry Alvin, your father is a tough guy' like that," replied Alvin.

"Alvin!" Miriam felt a little embarrassed by Alvin's answer.

"Hahaha... you've never changed since we met first, Miriam," said Alfred teasing his wife.

"Stop that or I'll stop cooking you this favorite food of yours" threatened Miriam.

"Well, well... you get angry very quickly, Miriam," said Alfred.

"Geez, you just got back," muttered Miriam.

"So dad, how can you become an adventurer?" asked Alvin.

“Alvin, hear this. Become an adventurer is not that difficult, what's difficult is living the life of an adventurer," Alfred replied.

Alfred also tells how he became an adventurer. He was originally just a shoe shop clerk with a meager salary. However, even with a modest salary, he managed to raise money to pay the administration fees for an adventurer's license. And after getting a license, he finally officially became an adventurer and was able to carry out missions for a much higher wage than the wages of a shoe shop clerk. However, with such a large salary it was also worth the risks he faced as an adventurer. An adventurer is a job that risks his life in carrying out missions such as defeating monsters, looking for an object in a dangerous place, or an important mission such as protecting the kingdom and so on. Hearing his father's story, Alvin was interested in becoming an adventurer like his father. He feels that being an adventurer is a very interesting job because he can travel to various places and so on. He wanted to see this vast world he lived in with his own eyes. Alvin listened to his father's story late into the night.

"Are you interested in becoming an adventurer?" asked Alfred.

"Of course, after dad's story, how could I not be interested in becoming an adventurer?" replied Alvin.

"Freddie, the village chief wants to see you!!" shouted Miriam from the living room.

"Okay, I'll be right there!" answered Alfred.

"Why is the chief visiting at night?" asked Alvin.

"I don't know, maybe he just wanted to see me. After all, I leave this village for a long time,” said Alfred.

Alvin just nodded at his father's answer.

"If that's the case, I’ll go to meet the village chief, sleep well, have a nice dream," said Alfred, who rubbed his son's head and then left him to meet the village head.

"Good night, dad" replied Alvin who began to close his eyes.

Alvin was fast asleep in his room. Tonight he might have a sweet dream after listening to his father's story. But, life is still life. Happiness doesn't always last forever.

Ram village, morning...

Alvin just woke up from his sleep. After taking a shower and changing his clothes, he went to the kitchen to eat with his mother and father. But only the mother was in the kitchen.

"Alvin, good morning!" greetings mother every morning as usual.

"Morning mom, D... eh? Where is dad? Still sleeping?" asked Alvin.

"Oh, your father has left earlier, he had a job. Sorry, your father... even though he just came home, but he can't spend his time with you,” Miriam replied.

“Since it's dad's job, I have to get used to it. But, what job did he accept? Didn't he say that he came home because he asked for time off?" asked Alvin.

“Yesterday our village chief came home, he asked your father to patrol in the forest around the village. The people in the village were very worried about the appearance of what looked like a monster in the forest. Huh... Because of the news about your father finding an ancient magic item some time ago, the villagers already knew that he was an adventurer and for that reason, they asked for help,” replied Miriam.

"Monster? Oh, we did hear yesterday that someone saw something like a monster. Are there monsters in the forest? Even though the village and forest around here are in a protective magic circle, how come there are monsters in that forest?” asked Alvin.

"No, don't think too much about it. Hurry up and finish your food, your friends must be waiting for you to come,” said Miriam.

"Fine, ma'am!" replied Alvin.

In the Forest...

Alfred is walking around the forest around the village. As long as he was around, he still hadn't found any sign of the monster in the forest.

'These country people, even though I'm on my day off... I haven't come home one day yet, and they already asked me to do the adventurer’s job.' Thought Alfred.

"Alfred!" shouted someone calling Alfred.

“Gray! Long time no see! How are you?" said Alfred.

"Of course it's fine. I didn't expect to see you again! By the way, what are you doing in this forest? Could it be, the chief has asked you to comb this forest, right?” asked Alfred's old friend Gray.

"Yes... you know, because my job is an adventurer, I can't refuse their request" replied Alfred.

"Sorry, the villagers are very worried about this problem because there are many eyewitnesses have seen this shadow," said Gray.

“I understand this situation. But... I haven't got any sign of any monsters yet. By the way, what are you doing here yourself?" asked Alfred.

“Looking for that monster as well?!" replied Gray.

"Alone?" Alfred asked again.

“People are too scared to do this. So I'm the only one who came to investigate. Fortunately, we met. How about we search together?" said Gray.

"If we looking together, we can find that monster?" asked Alfred.

"Do not worry! I know how!" replied Gray.

Ram Village, Late in the afternoon...

Alvin has just given the gifts he received from his father to his friends after they played from the morning.

“Hmm… That's delicious! The snacks from the capital are completely different from those in this village!” Tobias said.

“Toby... Eat slowly! You can choke!" scolded Valerie.

"He's just like a thirsty dog when it comes to snacks," Robin said sarcastically.

"Oi! You don't know how to enjoy delicious food.” Tobias countered Robin's sarcasm.

"Thank you, Al. You for sharing this dry snacks your father brought from the capital,” Leo said.

"It’s okay. My dad did buy this many snacks because he probably knew I wanted to share them with you," replied Alvin.

“Alvin!! You are indeed my best friend who cares for me... not like those who like to order, tease, or scold you like you are their child," said Tobias.

"Toby, Leo doesn't order us, he is more like asking us to do something. Whether or not we do it is still our will. Robin didn't mean to tease you like that either. Then Valerie cares about us and we should be grateful for that. Right, guys?" said Alvin.

"Yes... Like that..." Leo replied.

"No, I did tease him with all my heart," said Robin.

"Alvin..." Valerie blushed.

"See! They did that on purpose!" said Tobias, pointing at his friends.

"Never mind, we don't need to discuss this. It was late afternoon, we better go home,” said Leo.

Before Alvin and his friends left their playground, they heard a scream.

"Fire!!" shouted someone not far from where Alvin and his friends were playing.

"Fire?" Tobias asked.

"Let's see!" take Leo.

The five of them went to see what was going on. After they got to the place where the citizens were gathered, they saw a fire burning before their eyes.

"How can the forest burn?" asked a villager.

"Surely it was a monster!" replied his friend.

"It's true, there are monsters in the forest," said another villager.

"M-monster?" muttered Alvin.

'Your father has left earlier, he had a job... Yesterday our village chief came home, he asked your father to patrol the forest around the village. People in the village are very worried about the appearance of something that looks like a monster in the forest.' Alvin remembered his mother's words this morning.

"Dad?" muttered Alvin.

"What's wrong Alvin?" asked Valerie.

"Daaad!!" without thinking, Alvin ran towards the burning forest.

"Alvin!" shouted Leo who saw Alvin running and he tried to chase him.

"Hey!! Where are you going?!” shouted the villagers who saw Alvin and Leo running towards the forest.

"Hurry up and call the chief!" shouted the other villagers.

"Alvin!!" shouted Valerie calling them Alvin. But unfortunately, Alvin ran fast enough that he was far enough away to hear Valerie's voice. When Valerie wanted to run after them, Tobias stopped her by clasping her hand.

"Don’t! It's better if we just tell their family,” said Tobias.

"Then I'll go tell Leo’s family, Toby you and Valerie go tell Alvin’s," said Robin.

"Okay!" Tobias replied before he ran towards Alvin's house.

“W-wait! Toby!" shouted Valerie who was left by Tobias.

While Tobias, Valerie, and Robin went to inform Leo and Alvin's family, Leo and Alvin themselves had run into the burning forest. Leo, who chased Alvin to stop him, finally managed to pull Alvin's hand.

"Alvin!!" shouted Leo who managed to grab Alvin's hand and stop him.

"Leo! I have to find my dad! He might be in danger!" Alvin tried to get away from himself.

“You don't have to worry about it!! He's an adventurer right?!” Leo tries to remind Alvin of his adventurous father's job.

The two of them continued to fight until they forgot that they were in the burning forest.

*Creaak*

Their bickering stopped when they heard a voice from above them and saw a tree branch that was quite large and burning falling right above them.

"Watch out!!" shouted someone from afar who approached them.

*Slaaash*

The person cut the branch with his sword. Because the fire's smoke was thick enough, Leo and Alvin couldn't see the person enough. However, after he approached Alvin and Leo, they recognized the person.

"D-dad?" Alvin asked, surprised to see his father, who turned out to be fine even though his body looked a lot of wounds from a battle.

"What are you doing here?" asked Alfred.

"W-we-" before Alvin answered his father's question, there was someone who ran towards them.

“Alfred!! He's coming!" Shouts Gray looks like he's being chased by something.

“Gray! Take care of these two kids!" shouted Alfred who ran in the opposite direction to Gray.

“Damn monster! How did you get to this village?” muttered Alfred.

"Are you two okay?" asks Gray.

"Father?! What are you doing here?!" Leo was surprised to see his father in such a place.

“It's me who should ask such a question! Why are you two here?!” asks Gray.

“Gray!! I better lure this monster away from the village! You take the children away!" shouted Alfred before he left Gray and the children.

"Father!" shouted Alvin who tried to chase after his father but was stopped by Gray.

"No, too dangerous!" says Gray.

“Alvin, your father is strong enough to fight against that creature. He's an adventurer right?!” Leo repeated his words to bring Alvin up.

"Leo is right, he'll be fine," says Gray.

When Gray and Leo try to persuade Alvin to return to the village, drop by drop of water begins to fall from the sky.

"What is this? Water? Could it be..." Gray muttered before he looked at the sky.

"Rain?" Leo asked.

"That's great, it means we don't have to worry about forest fires," said Gray.

"Dad, we might have to worry about someone instead of forest fires," Leo said.

"Right, I hope Alfred can handle that monster" replied Gray.

"I hope so too, but he is not what I mean," Leo said.

Without realizing it, Gray takes his hand away from Alvin because of the rain. Taking advantage of Gray and Leo's distracted attention by the rain, Alvin runs after for his father. Realizing this, Gray and Leo rush after Alvin before he is in danger.

Ram Village, before it rains...

Miriam, who was lifting the clothesline, saw a thick plume of smoke.

"Smoke? Could it be ... Fire?" muttered Miriam.

“Mrs. Garrison! Mrs. Garrison!" shouted a child from a distance as he ran towards Miriam.

“Alvin's friends? I feel bad things will happen,” Miriam muttered after seeing two children running towards her.

Ram Village Border Forest...

Alfred is still running away from the village to lure the monsters they meet in the forest.

'Damn, it should be when Gray said that this monster is only visible in the late afternoon and gives off a foul smell around it I should have noticed' thought Alfred as he tried to remember the description of the monster's characteristics from Gray.

*Rooaaaaarrrr*

There was a roar from behind Alfred.

"Quickly the creature found me," muttered Alfred.

After running far enough, Alfred finally arrived at the place he was going to. The place is a cliff edge on the edge of the forest. Alfred thought that it was a suitable place to fight that monster.

"Until now, this place is still the same as before, where I practiced sword techniques" muttered Alfred.

Alfred turned towards him and aimed his sword technique to fight the monster. A few moments later, he saw something approaching from the bush in front of him. However, Alfred was surprised by what he saw.

“Alvin?! What are you doing here?! Didn't dad tell Gray to take you back to the village?!” asked Alfred who was surprised to see his son.

*Grooooowwlll*

Without realizing it, the monster came out of the forest and flew quickly towards Alvin. Alvin, who was surprised to see the monster flying towards him, could only stiffen at his place because it was the first time he saw a monster with his own eyes. Alfred tries to save his son, but Alfred's distance from his son is a little far away and he doesn't have the proper preparation to launch his attack. Alvin, who was still stiff, saw the scary winged monster figure begin to let out his tears.

"Alvin!!!" shouted his father who could not save his son.

*Splaaaaasshhh*

Instantly, the monster was attacked by a burst of water that was strong enough and sent the monster crashing and falling because it lost its balance as it flew.

"Alvin!!" shouted a woman who ran towards Alvin and hugged him.

"M-mother?" muttered Alvin who was still surprised by the incident.

"Miriam, what are you doing here too?!" asked Alfred who ran towards them.

"You can't look after a child or not?!" asked Miriam angrily.

"Save this conversation for later, we have a problem to take care of," Alfred replied.

"Always later! You are the unexpected head of the family.” Miriam was still angry.

“Alfred! Alvin!" shouted Gray who ran towards them with Leo.

"Gray, didn't I tell you to bring Alvin to the village?" asked Alfred.

"Looks like it's not our time to negotiate, look!" replied Gray, pointing at the monster.

"Freddie, how come... There is a dragon in this village?" asked Miriam.

"If I knew, I would carry a weapon better than this ordinary sword" replied Alfred.

*Rrrooooaaaarrr*

The dragon started to rise again after he fell due to Miriam's attack earlier.

“You're quite tough as a dragon too even though you're still a kid. But sadly, you are no longer a dragon. Gray! Take care of the children! Miriam, help me!” says Gray before he starts running towards the dragon.

*Rrooooaaarrr*

The dragon began to inhale to spit out flames.

"Miriam!" Alfred gave a signal.

"Magic Element, Water!" Miriam chanted a magic spell and created a torrent of water to prevent the dragon from breathing out fire.

"C-can you use magic?" asked Alvin who was amazed to see his mother's abilities.

"Sorry, Alvin. Mother kept this a secret for a long time,” replied Miriam.

"Sword skill, Piercing Slice!" Alfred used his skill to cut the dragon's two eyes so he couldn't see.

*Rrrooooaaaarrr*

The dragon roared after Alfred had cut both of its eyes.

“Alvin! Your father is great!" Leo said.

Alvin finally realized that his father was indeed very strong as an adventurer and had a mother who could use magic after seeing their abilities firsthand.

"Ha! Feel that damn dragon!” said Alfred, raising his sword.

"Do not be too happy, yet! Dragons still have a pretty sharp smell!” Miriam commemorates Alfred.

"Don't worry, his nose is my next target!" answered Alfred.

*Sniff* *Sniff*

The dragon tries to smell its enemy to find out their whereabouts. After a while, it began to flutter its wings and flew rapidly into the sky and took a sharp downward dive. But strangely, the dragon didn't fly towards Alfred or the others. The dragon flew towards the bush instead. Seeing this immediately Miriam used her magic.

"Magic Element, Water!" Miriam's attack hit the dragon and blew it away.

"W-what happened?!" asked Gray.

"You two! Hurry up and run here!" call Miriam.

Instantly, two children came out of the bush.

“Tobias?! Valerie?!” Alvin was surprised.

"What are these kids doing here?" asked Alfred.

"They must have followed me, even though I told you to stay in the village" replied Miriam.

"S-sorry we are also worried about Alvin so we are following aunt," said Valerie.

“Gray, you better take these kids home. Miriam and I will take care of this dragon," said Alfred before he went running towards the dragon.

"I-I still want to stay here!" said Alvin.

“Listen, Alvin, mom and dad have fought monsters before. However, attacking while protecting someone was quite a difficult thing to do. So I hope you understand and go home first to the village. Father and mother will follow. Support Magic, Sleeping Powder” said Miriam while reciting the spell to put Alvin to sleep.

"Sorry Alvin, we have to go first," said Gray as he picked up Alvin and took him away.

"Please take care of him!" shouted Miriam when Gray took Alvin and the other children away from the place.

"Miriam, do you have any ideas?" asked Alfred.

"Sure, but... if I can't see Alvin grow up, I'll never forgive you," said Miriam.

"Hmph!" Alfred nodded his head with a smile.

"Extreme Magic, Explosion!" Miriam recited the spell.

*Booooomm*

A fairly loud explosion sounded from the direction of the battlefield. On the other side of the forest, Gray who hears the explosion asks the children he is guiding to run faster. On the way, a black shadow is seen jumping from tree to tree and passing through Gray and the children. Gray who realizes that stops for a moment and looks at the area around him. But he saw nothing but trees. Gray runs back towards the village.

Ram Village...

In the village, the villagers just stare at the forest and hope that this event will quickly pass. After a while, it looks like Gray and the children make it out of the forest with Alvin in his lap.

"There! Someone's coming!" said a villager.

"It's my friends!" cried Robin when he saw his friends made it home safely.

"Gray, what happened?" asked the head of the village when he saw Alvin.

“Don't worry, he's just sleeping. His father and mother are taking care of the monster in the forest. I hope they can go home safely," replied Gray.

Ram Village Border Forest...

Time flies. There was no longer any sound from the forest that indicated that Alfred and Miriam's battle against the dragon was over. However, what can be seen on the battlefield is only someone wearing a black robe who is standing holding Alfred's sword.

“Too bad… you guys are strong enough to fight this dragon. But you guys will be of no use to me. This dragon is the same as you, whether you live or die is useless. This sword isn't the one I'm looking for either. My efforts in this place are in vain. But it's not over yet,” said the man in a black robe with an evil smile before he burned the dead dragon's corpse and left the battlefield.

Ram Village, the next day...

Alvin woke up from his sleep in a room he did not know. After a while, he realized that previously he was at the place where his father and mother were fighting a dragon. He also rushed out of the room. After he left the room, he

saw Gray and Leo sitting and eating their breakfast.

"Al!" Leo said when Alvin had woken up from his sleep.

"Leo? What happened? Where are mom and dad?" asked Alvin.

Instantly, Gray grabs Alvin's hand and takes him somewhere. He took Alvin to the burial place of his mother and father.

"Sorry Alvin, because they never came, we finally looked for them where they fought the dragon and... we found them lying on the ground lifeless near the dragon carcass that had been burned," said Gray.

"W-why? Why did they die?! They are strong right?! You guys also say things like that?! Why did they end up like this?!” asked Alvin, shedding tears.

"W-we also don't know why they are like this. The healers also found no sign of any magic or poison attacks. And their bodies weren't badly injured. However, they are lifeless,” replied Gray.

Alvin was silent while holding back his tears to see the graves of his mother and father. Gray and Leo decide to leave Alvin alone and give him time to accept reality.

"If you need anything, we're home," Gray says before he and Leo leave Alvin.

Alvin could only cry and cry tears that he could not hold back. He kept asking why this could happen to his parents. Time passed and the day began to fall in the afternoon. Alvin, who had calmed down, finally returned to Leo's house.

"Oh, Alvin? Have you calmed down?" asked Gray.

Alvin was silent and lowered his head. However, after a while, he says something to Gray.

“Uncle, please teach me how to use a sword! Please!" Alvin said while bending his body asking Gray to teach him how to use a sword.

“You want to learn to use a sword? What for?" Leo asked.

“I-I want to become an adventurer, I want to see the wider world with my own eyes! I want to go on an adventure!” said Alvin.

"Is that all?" asked Gray.

"W-what do you mean?" replied Alvin.

“Is that the only reason you want to learn the sword? Or is there another reason?" asks Gray.

"I-I..." said Alvin before he fell silent again.

"Alvin..." Leo muttered.

"I-I... I want... I want to find out why my parents died!" replied Alvin.

"That's why you wanted to learn the sword? You want to avenge your parents?” asks Gray.

"That's not it! I do want to be adventurous. I want to see this world more widely! That way I can get to know this world better and take better care of myself! The incident yesterday made me realize... There are still many things out there that I still don't know. Just yesterday I saw monsters, just yesterday I saw people who can use magic, and just yesterday I saw the abilities and work of an adventurer. There might be a lot more things that I still don't know! And maybe, by traveling, I can find out about the cause of my strange parents' death! So... Please! Teach me to use the sword!" Alvin replied, bending down and holding his chest.

"Hmm... Well... I want to answer no... because I'm not good at using swords ... but for me, I know the basics of how to use any weapon. Therefore I will only teach you the basics of using the sword. For the rest, you have to study on your own. How?" asks Gray.

“Th-that's enough! Thank you very much!" replied Alvin.

“But we have to train your tiny body first. We will start doing exercises to strengthen your muscles tomorrow, once your muscles are strong enough, then we will practice the basics of using the sword" said Gray.

"Thank you!" replied Alvin.

“Wrong! From now on, call me teacher!” says Gray.

"T-good, Teacher!" replied Alvin.

"Teacher? Even though you only teach the basics..." Leo muttered.

"Eh? Isn't that okay?" asks Gray.

"But how long does it take Alvin to study until he becomes an adventurer?" Leo asked.

“As far as I know, the minimum age for an adventurer to accept is twenty years. Your current age is ten years, so we will train for the next ten years!” replied Gray.

"Ten years?!" Alvin was surprised.

"Yes! Ten years! I will train you for ten years! And don't you complain while I teach you! Understand?!" says Gray.

"I-understand!" replied Alvin.

"Call me Teacher!" says Gray.

“I-understand! Teacher!" replied Alvin.
