Chapter 1 - The Arrival

The underground city of Erebus was alive with movement, yet its true rulers remained unseen. Built beneath the surface of Seoul, it housed the world’s deadliest individuals—mercenaries, spies, assassins, and those who operated outside the law. It was the beating heart of a secret organization known only as “The Order.”

And tonight, she had arrived.

The woman stepped into the vast glass corridor of the Order’s headquarters, the dim overhead lights reflecting off the pristine black marble floors. Dressed in a fitted black suit, her figure was both elegant and commanding, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders like silk spun in the shadows. Her eyes—blood-red, cold, and unreadable—gave nothing away.

Whispers followed her entrance. No one recognized her. No one knew her name. And yet, there was something about her that made even the most hardened killers pause.

She walked as if the world belonged to her, as if the weight of the organization meant nothing in her presence.

“Who the hell is she?” one agent muttered to his partner.

“New recruit, apparently,” the other replied, voice tinged with skepticism. “No records, no affiliations. Just showed up, and the higher-ups let her in.”

“That’s impossible.”

“Yet, here she is.”

At the end of the corridor, a towering figure leaned against the reception desk. Ronan Kade, one of the Order’s top enforcers, watched her approach with an amused smirk.

“Welcome, newcomer.” His voice was deep, confident—the kind of voice used to commanding attention.

She didn’t reply.

Ronan’s smirk faltered slightly. He wasn’t used to being ignored. “Do you have a name?”

She tilted her head slightly, gaze unwavering. “Names mean nothing in places like this.”

He chuckled. “Fair enough. But you’ll need one for your records.”

“Call me Raven.”

A single name, given without hesitation.

Ronan studied her for a moment. He’d seen countless recruits come and go, but this one was different. The way she carried herself, the way she exuded power without even trying—it sent a shiver of unease through him.

“Alright, Raven.” He gestured toward the hallway behind him. “Let’s see if you’re worth the hype.”

The Trial

She was taken to an underground training facility—a massive, dimly lit arena where new recruits were tested. Only those who survived were accepted.

The moment she stepped inside, she felt the eyes of the other candidates on her. Jealousy. Suspicion. Amusement.

“She’s going to die in the first round,” someone whispered.

“She looks delicate,” another chuckled. “Probably just a rich girl playing pretend.”

Raven ignored them. She had heard those words before.

An instructor stepped forward, his expression void of emotion. “The rules are simple. Fight, win, survive.”

A man stepped into the ring—a seasoned fighter, muscles rippling with strength. He was at least twice her size, and his grin was predatory.

“I’ll go easy on you,” he taunted.

Raven’s lips curled into a small, almost amused smile.

The signal was given.

The man lunged forward, fast—but not fast enough.

A single movement. That was all it took.

In an instant, Raven twisted around him, dodging his attack with inhuman grace. A sharp blow to his ribs, a second to his throat. He staggered, gasping for air.

Before he could react, she was behind him.

With a single precise strike to the back of his neck, he collapsed to the ground—unconscious.

Silence.

The room, once filled with laughter and whispers, fell deathly still.

The instructor raised an eyebrow. “Interesting.”

Raven dusted off her sleeves. “Next?”

The Watchers

Unknown to her, several high-ranking members of the Order were watching from the observation deck above.

Among them sat Silas Voss, the mastermind behind the organization’s most covert operations. Beside him stood Lucien Blackwood, a man feared even by those within the Order.

“She’s exceptional,” Silas noted.

Lucien said nothing, his piercing gaze locked onto the woman below. There was something about her—something dangerous.

“She doesn’t belong here,” he murmured.

Silas chuckled. “Perhaps. But that’s exactly why she intrigues me.”

Lucien’s jaw tightened. He had seen powerful people before. He had destroyed powerful people before. But this woman… she was different.

And that made her dangerous.

The Beginning of Obsession

As Raven walked out of the arena, she could feel it—the shift in the air, the change in how people looked at her.

Fear. Curiosity. Fascination.

And somewhere among them, the beginning of something darker.

She had entered the Order as a nobody. But now, she had their attention.

And attention in a place like this?

It was both a blessing and a curse.
