Well not exactly you see their king was a kind and merciful leader but the princess his daughter was very special and important to the kingdom..

Well actually in a literal sense she was one of the few things holding up the empire as her mother was a goddess and that very goddess was the one who founded the kingdom

She was but also very important you see the goddess infused herself into her children and the kingdom so if the children went down so did the kingdom

why was only one princess so fiercely protect shouldn't they all be protected?

Well they were, but this particular one had gained the most power from her mother making her the most targeted

why did Darius have to protect her??

well that was simple his father and his ancestors were swordsmen and his great great grandfather was the goddesses knight Darius's older brothers were already knights of the other princess and prince
