1 - BETRAYAL
It was a special day for Taehyung and Jungkook, as they celebrated their second anniversary. The journey that started when they met at the age of 15 and blossomed into a beautiful friendship turned into something even more meaningful when they officially became boyfriends at 16.
Jungkook arrived at the florist's shop with his close friend, Jimin, who couldn't help but notice the excitement in Jungkook's eyes.
Jimin
Calm your horses down, Jungkook. Taehyung is not going to run anywhere
Jimin teased playfully, eyeing the gardenia flowers. He mentally made a note to give them to Yoongi, another member of their close-knit group.
Jungkook
Damn, I never thought you were going to ask Yoongi out in this lifetime. Finally, your 'we are just friends' act will end
Jungkook quipped, adding air quotes for emphasis. He couldn't help but chuckle as Jimin shot him a mockingly amused smile.
Jimin
Enough talking about me and Yoongi. Do you have a short-term memory or what? Remember why we are here in the first place?
Jimin retorted with a grin
Jungkook replied with a sheepish grin, his gaze now falling upon the white lilies.
Jungkook
These white lilies are perfect for my Taehyungie.
Jimin
Calm your horses down, Romeo. Your love words are irritating my ears. Both you and Taehyung call me single in thousands of languages
Jimin playfully scolded, but his eyes softened with affection. Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's antics.
Jungkook purchased the white lilies, confident that they would make Taehyung's day even more special. Jimin, on the other hand, bought the gardenia flowers, a thoughtful gesture for Yoongi.
Jungkook
I am going to surprise Taehyung, hopefully he agrees to move in with me
Jungkook shared his plan with excitement.
Jimin
He will definitely agree
Jimin reassured him with a warm smile before checking the time on his phone.
Jimin
It's already four, you should hurry.
Jungkook
You're right. Bye, see you in the evening.
Jungkook said, bidding farewell to Jimin. With the bouquet in hand, he hopped into his car and drove towards Taehyung's place.
As he reached the building, the elevator dinged, and he pressed the button for the eighth floor. Jungkook's heart pounded with nervousness and excitement as he thought about surprising Taehyung. He carefully held the spare key to Taehyung's flat in his pocket and unlocked the door with a hopeful smile.
However, his smile faded when he stepped inside and saw no sign of Taehyung. His eyes locked onto a pair of shoes, unfamiliar to him, lying in the living area. The size was visibly larger than Taehyung's size 8. Jungkook's heart sank as he realized that someone else might be present in Taehyung's flat, leaving him with a sense of confusion and concern.
As Jungkook followed the mysterious voice to Taehyung's bedroom, the growing volume filled him with trepidation. He desperately wished he hadn't heard anything at all, but he couldn't ignore the undeniable truth before him. Slowly pushing the door open, his worst fears materialized into a heart-wrenching reality - Taehyung was cheating on him right in front of his eyes.
His heart shattered into countless pieces, and tears welled up in his eyes as the betrayal hit him like a tidal wave. Struggling to hold back a sob, Jungkook wanted to believe it was a misunderstanding, but the evidence before him was undeniable. He placed the bouquet of white lilies he had lovingly picked out for Taehyung on a nearby surface, unable to bear the weight of the flowers or the situation any longer.
The initial shock was soon overtaken by a surge of anger. Rage boiled within him, blinding him to anything else. Without a second thought, Jungkook hurriedly left the building and jumped into his car, desperate to escape the pain and find solace elsewhere. He needed a break from the agony, to forget the painful image imprinted in his mind.
He drove aimlessly, seeking refuge in the anonymity of a bar. The dim lights and the buzz of voices served as a temporary distraction from the turmoil within. Jungkook tried to numb the pain with each sip, attempting to forget the heartache that felt unbearable.
Amidst the haze of emotions, he grappled with questions that may never have answers. Why had Taehyung betrayed him? What had gone wrong in their relationship? The unanswered questions weighed heavily on him as he sought refuge in the fleeting moments of oblivion.
Amidst the haze of emotions, he grappled with questions that may never have answers. Why had Taehyung betrayed him? What had gone wrong in their relationship? The unanswered questions weighed heavily on him as he sought refuge in the fleeting moments of oblivion.
For now, the pain was too raw to confront. Jungkook drowned his sorrows, trying to find respite from the anguish that threatened to consume him.
As Jungkook sat alone in the bar, drowning his sorrows in alcohol, his phone suddenly interrupted the numbing haze. He saw Jimin's name flashing on the screen and hesitated for a moment before answering. Greeting him with a half-hearted chuckle, he tried to muster some semblance of normalcy in his voice.
Jimin
So, how did it go? Did Taehyung agree to your proposal?
Jimin's voice bubbled with excitement, unaware of the storm that had just engulfed Jungkook's heart. His chuckling caught Jimin's attention, and concern crept into his tone.
Jimin
Jungkook, are you okay?
Jimin probed further, hearing the faint noise of music and a crowd in the background.
Jimin
Wait, are you at a bar? What happened? Tell me
He implored, his anxiety mounting with each passing second.
In a slurry voice, Jungkook began to reveal the painful truth.
He said, choking on his words
Jungkook
Taehyung cheated on me. He destroyed our relationship so fast.
Shock washed over Jimin as he struggled to comprehend what he had just heard. He knew both of his friends well - Jungkook would never falsely accuse Taehyung, and Taehyung, in his eyes, could never betray Jungkook.
Before Jimin could respond, he heard Jungkook's sobs through the phone. His heart ached for his friend, unable to bear the pain he was going through.
Jungkook
I loved him so much, hyung. How could he do this to me? What was missing in me? If he didn't love me anymore, he could have told me. I would have tried harder to keep him. But breaking my heart on our anniversary... this is not fair, hyung.
Jungkook's words were laced with anguish as tears streamed down his cheeks.
Jimin
Don't worry, Jungkook. Stay there, okay? I will come to pick you up
Jimin assured, his heart breaking for his friend. He quickly cut the call, leaving his house in a rush, driving to the bar where he suspected Jungkook might be.
Entering the crowded bar, Jimin scanned the room, searching for his devastated friend. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spotted Jungkook, his once vibrant eyes now red and swollen from crying. His heart sank at the sight, knowing that Jungkook was already in a fragile state due to the alcohol he had consumed.
Hurrying to Jungkook's side, Jimin gently placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
Jimin
Come on, let's get you out of here
He said softly, guiding him away from the crowd. Jungkook leaned on his friend for support, finding solace in Jimin's presence amidst the chaos of his emotions.
As Jimin guided Jungkook out of the noisy bar, he hailed a cab and took his distressed friend to his own house. Once they arrived, Jimin made sure Jungkook was settled comfortably on the couch. He retrieved a glass of water and some headache medicine, knowing that Jungkook would need it after the emotional rollercoaster he had been through
Jimin
Here, drink this and take these pills. It will help you feel a bit better
Jimin said, handing the medicine to Jungkook, who gratefully accepted them.
Jungkook mumbled, his voice still shaky from crying
Jimin
Don't mention it, Kookie. I'm here for you, okay? You don't have to face this alone
Jimin reassured him, sitting beside Jungkook, offering a comforting presence
Over the next few days, Jungkook found solace in the company of his friends. He decided to open up to them about the painful incident that shattered his heart. Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok listened attentively as Jungkook narrated the whole ordeal. They could see the pain etched on his face, and their anger towards Taehyung grew with each word.
Namjoon
I always thought Taehyung was a good guy. This is hard to believe
Yoongi's expression darkened.
Yoongi
The truth is always bitter. But we have to trust Kook and stand by him
Hoseok's usually bright demeanor turned serious.
Hoseok
If Taehyung has really betrayed Jungkook like this, he needs to be held accountable..
Jungkook nodded, his determination evident in his eyes.
Jungkook
I trusted Taehyung completely, and he broke that trust. I can't let him get away with it. Taehyung should know what he gets when he messes with Jeon Jungkook's feelings.
Jungkook's heart was mending, his anger simmered, fueled by a desire for revenge on the person who had so callously toyed with his feelings
His friends could feel the weight of his emotions, and their anger towards Taehyung intensified. They all wanted to believe in Taehyung's innocence, but they knew they had to support Jungkook through this difficult time.
Taehyung didn't appear in the university until the seventh day of the incident.
The university campus was abuzz with whispers and glances as Taehyung timidly approached the group of friends, his eyes red from countless sleepless nights and tearful regrets. He took a deep breath, knowing that he had to face the consequences of his actions something he didn't have control at. He knew he had to face Jungkook and his friends, hoping against hope that they would listen to his side of the story. But seeing the anger in their eyes and the hurt etched on Jungkook's face, he knew he had little chance of redemption.
Jungkook's eyes locked onto Taehyung, and a mixture of anger and hurt flashed across his face.
Jungkook
Look who decided to show up
He said, his voice cold and cutting.
Taehyung's voice trembled as he tried to speak.
Taehyung
Jungkook, please listen to me. I need to explain
Jungkook
Oh, you want to explain now?
Jungkook scoffed, his anger bubbling to the surface.
Jungkook
Save your excuses, Taehyung. I've heard enough lies from you.
Jimin stepped forward, his usually warm demeanor replaced by a stern expression.
Jimin
Taehyung, we trusted you. We thought you were different. But you shattered our trust in the cruelest way possible.
Taehyung swallowed hard, trying to steady his trembling voice.
Taehyung
Please, just give me a chance to explain. It's not what you think. I never wanted to hurt you
He pleaded, desperate for them to understand.
Jimin stepped forward, his arms crossed, his anger palpable.
Jimin
Save your lies, Taehyung. You don't deserve our sympathy.
Hoseok's disappointment was evident as he shook his head.
Hoseok
You had a choice, Taehyung. You could have been honest with Jungkook, but you chose to betray him.
Hoseok's voice was tinged with sadness.
Hoseok
You should've thought about that before you broke his heart.
Yoongi's eyes bore into Taehyung's, his disappointment palpable.
Yoongi
You had every chance to come clean, but you chose to betray us all.
Taehyung fell to his knees, his sobs echoing through the crowd as he begged for forgiveness.
Taehyung
I love Jungkook. I never cheated on him. Please believe me.
But Jungkook's heart had been shattered, and he couldn't find it in himself to trust Taehyung anymore.
Jungkook
Love? If you loved me, you wouldn't have done this. You wouldn't have hurt me like this
He said, his voice breaking
Jimin's voice was firm as he shook his head.
Jimin
We can't trust you anymore, Taehyung. You broke something that can't be fixed.
As Taehyung tried to hold back tears and tried to say in his croaked voice.
Jungkook who couldn't listen to any of this bullshit anymore stopped Taehyung in the middle. His heart raged with anger and said something that hurt the other party to an extent he could have ever imagined.
Jungkook
I had enough of everything Taehyung, I am done with you. You are just a worthless piece of shit that doesn't deserve anything in his life.
Hoseok placed a comforting hand on Jungkook's shoulder, his voice gentle.
Hoseok
Let's go, Kook. We don't need this drama.
As Jungkook and his friends turned away, Taehyung felt the weight of his actions crashing down on him. He was left alone, humiliated and broken, as the friends he had once cherished walked away from him.
