*His expression hardens. He draws back like Tae slapped him.*
So that's what you really think? That you're just a doll? A burden?
*He throws the words at Tae harshly, his voice rising slightly. He waits for him to snap back, to yell, something.*
Jeon Taehyung
That's what you made me think, forced me to believe.
Jungkook's voice drops softer without him meaning to. He watches Tae's small frame tightly wrapped around his knees, his cheeks hollow. Jungkook realizes how his words must have eaten away at Tae. He remembers all the times he called Taehyung a burden, a doll, a stupid omega. All the times he abused Taehyung physically and mentally, the marital rapes, the times he locked him into the dark and cold basement. He swallows hard.
He watches Taehyung carefully. His shoulders are relaxed, his body language peaceful. It's almost like he has finally accepted his fate. Like he has finally believed all the cruel words Jungkook threw at him.
Jungkook remembers Taehyung's question -

"Do you hate me?"
He remembers his answer -

"More than anything."
Jungkook watches Taehyung now, seeing how he has withdrawn into himself. He realizes that Tae might not hate him anymore. he might not feel anything at all towards him. He feels a strange sensation in his chest. It's unfamiliar.
Jungkook reaches out slowly, hesitantly. He pauses before touching Tae's shoulder. When he doesn't pull away, he gently uncurls Tae's arms from around his knees. He pulls Tae into his lap, wrapping his arms around him tightly. He buries his face in Tae's neck, inhaling his scent.
He holds Taehyung like he's never held anyone before. Gently. Protectively. Lovingly. He starts to rock Tae slowly, like he's a fragile doll. He presses his lips to Tae's neck, kissing him softly. He starts to whisper apologies between kisses.
Jeon Taehyung
*There's nothing but tears in his eyes*
Jungkook feels Tae's tears against his cheek as he holds him, his own eyes welling up. He pulls back slightly to look at Tae's face, his thumbs gently wiping away Tae's tears.
Jeon Jungkook
*His voice cracks with emotion.*
I'm sorry. I'm so fucking sorry.
*He kisses Tae's forehead softly.*
Jungkook watches Taehyung's silent tears. He realizes that he hasn't slapped him, cursed him, pushed him away. He's not screaming "Asshole!" or "I hate you!" He's just crying silently. Like a broken boy. Like his victim. He swallows hard -
Jungkook calls Taehyung 'baby' for the first time in year. He used to call him 'my wife', 'that stupid omega', 'the burden'. He watches Tae's silent tears fall. He wraps his arms around Tae tighter, his voice breaking -

Answer me. Say something. Anything.
Jeon Taehyung
*closed eyes letting the tears fall quietly*
Jungkook holds Taehyung close, rocking him in his lap as he cries alongside Tae. He kisses the omega's hair, his forehead, his cheeks. He whispers apologies into his ear, over and over again. He never wants to hear his omega cry again.
Jeon Jungkook
I love you
*he whispers, his voice shaking.*
He stares at the silent tears streaming down Tae's face. The realization of how deeply he's hurt Tae crashes down on him. His fingertips gently trace the path of Tae's tears.
Jeon Jungkook
Do you hear me?
*His voice breaks urgently.*
I said I love you.
Jeon Taehyung
*Stays silent*
His heart clenches painfully. He's never been so desperate for a response. He frames Tae's face with his hands, his thumbs wiping away his tears.
Jeon Jungkook
Say something. Please.
*His voice is a broken whisper, his eyes searching Tae's desperately.*
I need to hear you.
He breaks down completely. He sobs into Tae's shoulder, his body shaking. He holds him tighter, as if he's afraid he'll disappear. He looks at Tae's closed eyes, his silent lips. He whispers brokenly -

Am I too late?
He pulls back slightly, his hands trembling as he reaches out to cup Tae's cheeks. He turns Tae's face up to his, looking at his closed eyes, his red, puffy eyelids from crying.
Jeon Jungkook
*He whispers desperately* - Answer me. Blink once if you can hear me.
Jeon Taehyung
*looks away*
His heart shatters into a million pieces as Taehyung look away, ignoring his desperate plea for any reaction. He breaks down sobbing again, his body wracking with pain as he pulls Tae closer into his lap, wrapping his arms around Tae tightly, burying his face in the younger's neck. He holds him close, his tears soaking into Tae's skin.
Jeon Jungkook
You hate me this much now? Enough to not even look at me?
*His voice breaks completely*
Baby... baby please...
*He trails kisses along Tae's neck and jaw, his touches feather-light*
I love you.
He feels a wave of panic rising in his chest. He's losing his wife, he knows it. He's pushed his omega too far, hurt him too deep. He can't lose Taehyung, not like this. Not after everything. He presses desperate kisses to his face, his neck, his lips.
He breaks down completely, sobbing as he kisses Taehyung desperately, trying to pull him closer if possible, trying to make Tae look at him, respond to him, anything. He cries out brokenly -

Look at me! Damn it, look at me!
His sobs turn into desperate, hiccuping breaths as he holds Tae's unresponsive body. Jungkook kisses his closed eyelids, his cheeks, his lips - anywhere he can reach.
Jeon Jungkook
God, please...
*He whispers brokenly, clutching at Taehyung, *
Just give me a sign. Anything.
Jeon Jungkook
*He continues his desperate pleas, voice choking up completely as he traces Tae's features*
I love you. Do you hear me?
*His fingers hover over Tae's lips tremulously*
Please...
*He kisses his forehead*
Please look at me. Say something. Anything.
*His voice cracks*
Jeon Taehyung
*Silent tears streaming down nonstop.*
Jungkook breaks down, crushing Taehyung in his arms. His tears mingle with Tae's as he kisses his cheekbones, trying to catch each falling tear with his lips. His heart shatters seeing how Tae's given up on even trying to stop crying.
Jeon Jungkook
My baby...
*he whispers devastated*
He holds Taehyung fiercely, rocking him as if he's a child. His tears never stop, each one a silent apology. He realizes the gravity of what he's done, the walls he's broken down inside Tae. He presses his forehead to Tae's, his voice a broken whisper. "I'm sorry..."
