Episode 6: Echoes of the Past
The world stood still.
Taehyung’s breath hitched as he stared at the man before him—a being who should not exist in the mortal world.
And yet, he knew him.
Not in name. Not in memory.
But in something deeper.
Something unexplainable.
Jungkook was a ruler of the underworld. Feared. Worshipped. Unchallenged.
Yet here he was, standing before a mere mortal, unable to move.
For centuries, he had been cursed to one day meet his downfall. He had prepared to kill. To destroy. To deny fate itself.
But why did this mortal’s eyes feel so… familiar?
Why did something inside him, something buried beneath centuries of darkness, ache?
Jungkook’s jaw clenched, fingers curling as the shadows in the room thickened.

(low, sharp): “What trick is this?”
Taehyung took a step back, his heart pounding against his ribs.
kim taehyung (18 year old)
(whispering): “I… know you.”
The words sent a sharp, unexplainable pain through Jungkook’s chest. His golden eyes darkened, his body tensing.

(harshly): “No, you don’t.”
But Taehyung did. He didn’t know how. Didn’t know why.
But he had seen those eyes before.
A sharp pain shot through Taehyung’s head, making him stumble.
And then—he saw it.
A vision. A dream. A memory?
The same golden eyes.
But they were softer. Filled with something warmer.
A voice, low and familiar, whispered in his mind.
"I will always find you."
Taehyung gasped, his knees hitting the wooden floor as the vision shattered. He clutched his head, his breathing ragged.

(panting): “What… was that?”
Jungkook watched him, his own body rigid.
The pull between them was too strong. The same pull he had ignored for years.
This mortal… was not ordinary.
And deep inside, beneath all his denial, Jungkook already knew why.
Jungkook had to end this.
He had to kill him.
That was what the gods wanted, wasn’t it? For him to fall? To be weakened by this mortal?
His fingers twitched, shadows curling at his command.
One strike. One command.
And yet…
He couldn’t.
He wouldn’t.

(low, conflicted): “I should kill you.”
Taehyung slowly lifted his gaze, still dazed from the vision. Yet, instead of fear—he stared at Jungkook like he had always known him.
Like he had always belonged to him
kim taehyung (18 year old)
(softly, breathless): “But you won’t.”
Jungkook’s grip tightened.
The shadows flickered violently—before retreating.
The Devil had made his first mistake.
He let him live.
