Papa, yaahoo!
Parents
"Miko-chan, dou ya? Genki shiteru ka?"
[Miko-chan, how's it going? You doing okay?]
Kemiko
"Papa, yaahoo! Mou settoru in shita de! Nii-chan ga tetsudatte katazuketa kara, zenbu owatta wa."
[Hi, Papa! I've already settled in! My brother helped me unpack, so now it's all done.]
Kemiko
"Ima kara mon made okuriau nen."
[We're heading to the gate together now.]
Nii-san
"Otousan, Miko wa kyou wa hontou no ganbatta mitai de, heya de issho ni ikitai tte iu n'desu. Sore de, koko de wakareru koto ni natte masu."
[Father, Miko's really been trying hard today. Even though just unpacking with me was enough, she insisted on walking me to the gate. So, we're parting ways there.]
Nii-san
"Hai, settoru in mo sunda shi, katazuke wa ore ga tetsudatte, soko ni ita senpai ga chotto tasukete kurete, iroiro jouzu ni susunde masu. Nanka, ii kanji desu yo."
[She's all settled in and unpacked, I helped her out and a senior here even lend us a hand, so things are going smoothly. It's all going really well.]
Parents
"Souka, sou ka! Miko, ganbatta n'yana? Nii-chan mo tasukete kureta nara, papa mo anshin ya."
[I see, I see! Miko, you worked hard didn't you? And with your brother helping, that makes me feel better.]
Kemiko
"Un! Papa, shinpai send toite! Sore ni na, minna koko, sugoku yasashii n ya de."
[Uh-huh, don't worry Papa! And, you know, everyone here is super nice.]
Kemiko
"Sore kara ne... atarashii tomodachi mo dekita! Kankoku kara kiteta ko de, meccha kawaii n ya!"
[And guess what... I made a new friend! She's from Korea, and she's sooo cute!]
Their conversation continues... Until.
Kemiko
"Eeh... Papa, matte matte!"
[Eeh... Papa, wait, wait!]
Kemiko
"Papa, Miko ni keitai kureta yan?"
[Papa, didn't you gave me your phone?]
Kemiko
"Soshitara, ima, douyatte denwa kaketterun? Doko no denwa tsukatten no?"
[Then, how can you call us right now? whose phone are you using right now?]
Parents
"Aa, sore na!"
[Ah, about that!]
Parents
"Jitsu wa na, Miko to nii-chan ga dou shiteru kana~ tte, chotto ki ni nattetann ya kedo, douyatte denwa shitara ee ka wakarann kattann ya."
[Actually, I was a little worried about how Miko and Nii-chan were doing... I wasn’t sure how to call you.]
Parents
"Soshitara na, tamatama tamagoya-san ga tottetete, denwa kashite kurerutte itte kureten na. Honma, bikkuri shittawa.." (warai)
[Then, by chance, an egg seller passed by, and he said I could borrow his phone. Honestly, I was really surprised..] (laughs)
Kemiko
"Eee? (Fufu) Honma ni tamagoya-san kara denwa karitan, Papa? (Ahaha) sasuga Papa ya naa!"
[Eeh? (Giggles) Did you really borrow a phone from the egg seller, Papa? (Laughs) That’s so like you, Papa!]
Kemiko
"Uchi mo Papa ni aitakatta de. Arigatou, Papa! Daisuki ya de! Honma, arigato~!"
[We missed you too. Thank you, Papa! I love you! Really, thank you~!] ✨
Nii-san
"Jaa... sorosoro owakare da na. Demo, hontou ni baibai tte iu no ga tsurai na, Miko.."
[Well... I guess this is goodbye. But it’s really hard to say goodbye, Miko..]
Her brother said, as they arrived at the gate where they would part ways...
Kemiko
"Honma ni baibai nante iwan toite, Onii-chan! Wakare ya nakute, mata au hi made yan! Sore made, Yui mo zenryoku de ganbaru kara, daijoubu ya de!"
[No, don’t say goodbye, Onii-chan! It's not a farewell—it's just 'until we meet again'! Until then, I’ll do my best, so don’t worry!]
Nii-san
"Sokka, sou da na.. Miko, ki o tsukete na. Omae nara kitto daijoubu tte shinjiteru kedo, yappari shinpai da yo. Demo, atarashii seikatsu o kokoro kara tanoshinde na."
[You're right. Yeah... Miko, take care of yourself, okay? I believe you'll be just fine, but I can't help worrying. But enjoy your new life to the fullest.]
Kemiko
"Un! Onii-chan mo genki de ne!"
[Okay! You take care too, Onii-chan!] ^^
Nii-san
"Nanika attara, sugu renraku shite kure yo. Ore, sugu ni kaketsukeru kara na. —Miko, ganbare yo!"
[If anything comes up, contact me right away. I’ll come running if you need me. —Miko, do your best!]
Kemiko
"Un, arigatou.. Onii-chan!"
[Okay, thank you.. Onii-chan!]
After thanking her brother, Kemiko gave a small bow, a sign of respect for their farewell.
Her brother nodded in return, but just as he began to turn away..
..she suddenly ran to him for one last hug.
Surprised.. he turned back and embraced her.
For a moment, they stood there, holding each other tightly, both feeling the bittersweetness of the moment. — Slowly, they pulled away, tears welling up in their eyes, before finally parting ways. ~
After parting ways with her brother, Kemiko began her way back to her dorm.
But as she stroller through GPPS, a voice called out from behind, making her pause and turn around.
???
"Aa.. soko ni ita ka, cicchana taiyou."
[Ah.. there you are, little sunshine.]
