Let's start..

Taehyung was a perfectionist. As the director of Jungkook's music company, his weeks were often swallowed by meetings, production schedules, and endless phone calls. This week was no different. He hadn’t come home in six days, working tirelessly to perfect the company’s latest project. Jungkook understood—it was one of the things he loved about his husband—but the ache of missing him had grown unbearable.

Late Friday evening, Jungkook sat in their quiet apartment, staring at the untouched dinner on the table. He knew Taehyung was safe, but his absence weighed heavily on him. With a sigh, Jungkook grabbed his coat. If Taehyung couldn’t come home, he’d bring home to him.

At the studio, the dim light from Taehyung’s office seeped into the hallway. Peeking through the glass door, Jungkook saw him, head bent over his desk, glasses perched on his nose, hair messy from hours of work. Jungkook’s heart clenched at the sight.

He knocked softly before stepping inside. Taehyung looked up, surprise and exhaustion mixing on his face. “Jungkook? What are you doing here?”

“Came to see my husband,” Jungkook said, smiling. He walked over, placing a kiss on Taehyung’s forehead. “You’ve been working too hard.”

“I’m almost done—”

Jungkook interrupted him by gently pulling him to his feet. “No, you’re done for tonight. I miss you, Tae. Let me steal you for a while.”

Taehyung hesitated, but the warmth in Jungkook’s eyes melted his resolve. “Alright. But just for a bit,” he murmured, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Jungkook didn’t take him home. Instead, he drove them to a quiet spot overlooking the city. They sat in the car, sharing takeout and talking about everything and nothing. For the first time in days, Taehyung’s laughter echoed freely.

As the city lights twinkled below, Jungkook reached over and intertwined their fingers. “You work so hard, Tae. Just don’t forget—I’ll always be waiting for you.”

Taehyung squeezed his hand, his heart full. “And I’ll always come back to you.”

That night, amidst the quiet hum of the city, their love felt as infinite as the stars above.

As the car's heater hummed softly, the tension that had gripped Taehyung’s shoulders all week began to ease. He leaned his head back against the seat, glancing sideways at Jungkook. The faint glow from the dashboard illuminated his husband’s profile—calm, steady, yet tinged with a quiet longing that Taehyung couldn’t ignore.

“Did I really make you miss me this much?” Taehyung asked softly, his voice laced with guilt.

Jungkook chuckled, keeping his eyes on the road. “You have no idea. It’s too quiet without you, Tae. I kept waiting for you to walk in, complain about my messy desk, or steal my hoodies. But you never came.”

Taehyung bit his lip, his guilt deepening. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize…”

Jungkook reached over and placed a reassuring hand on Taehyung’s knee. “Don’t apologize. I know you’re doing what you love. I just needed to remind you that I love you too—and I need you just as much as your work does.”

They soon arrived at their spot, a quiet hill overlooking the glittering cityscape. Jungkook had stumbled upon it years ago during one of his late-night drives, and it had since become their special place. The view stretched endlessly, the city lights twinkling like a sea of stars.

Jungkook parked the car and turned to Taehyung with a grin. “Stay here.” He hopped out, went around to the trunk, and returned with a blanket and a bag of takeout.

Taehyung couldn’t help but laugh. “You planned all this?”

“Of course,” Jungkook said, setting up the blanket on the hood of the car. “I knew you wouldn’t let me take you to a fancy restaurant. This is better, right?”

Taehyung climbed out, pulling his coat tighter against the cool night air, and joined Jungkook on the makeshift picnic spot. The two of them sat side by side, sharing bites of greasy but delicious food and talking.

Taehyung told Jungkook about the project—the challenges, the breakthroughs, and the little victories that kept him going. Jungkook listened intently, nodding and offering the occasional encouraging word. In return, Taehyung asked about Jungkook’s week, laughing at his stories about the chaos in the recording studio.

The hours slipped by unnoticed, the city below them growing quieter as the night deepened. Taehyung leaned his head against Jungkook’s shoulder, feeling a warmth that no amount of studio lights could replicate.

“Thank you,” Taehyung murmured.

“For what?” Jungkook asked, turning slightly to look at him.

“For reminding me to slow down,” Taehyung said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I get so caught up in work that I forget what really matters sometimes. But you… you always bring me back.”

Jungkook kissed the top of Taehyung’s head, his lips lingering for a moment. “That’s what we’re here for, Tae. To keep each other grounded.”

They stayed there until the early hours of the morning, wrapped in each other’s arms, surrounded by the stillness of the world.

When they finally returned home, Taehyung knew he’d return to the studio soon—there was still work to be done. But tonight, for the first time in days, he fell asleep in Jungkook’s arms, his heart lighter and his love deeper than ever.
