His words echoed in her mind, each one a dagger to her pride. She wanted to cry, but she refused to give him the satisfaction, even if he wasn’t there to see it.
Moments later another knock came but softer than before , the door opened to reveal Lady Daivan her dark braid glinting in the morning light. Her hazel eyes immediately filled with concern as she stepped inside.
