When You Choose Her

When You Choose Her

#1

It was said that long ago, the Empire of Windhurge was a land of endless skies and ancient winds, a place where the bond between humans and mythical creatures beings of the wind, the sky, and the very fabric of nature

was unbreakable.

The first emperor, Aelindar Windsworn, a mage of great power and wisdom, forged an empire that soared above the earth, built upon the magic of the winds. The people of Windhurge lived in harmony with creatures like the Sylphs, the Drakynths, and the Aetherians, beings whose very existence was tied to the kingdom’s prosperity.

But as time passed, the kingdom grew, and with it, so did the ambitions of the royal bloodline. It was in the tenth generation, when the Windsworn family was at the height of its power, that disaster struck.

The rulers of Windhurge, drunk on their newfound strength, sought to control the very creatures that had once helped them rise to glory. The creatures, who had been bound by an ancient promise to the Mother of Life to protect the balance between the mortal and mythical realms, could no longer bear witness to the human rulers' greed.

And so, they left, retreating into the hidden corners of the world, their bond with humanity severed forever.

The kingdom was never the same again.

Now, centuries later, the Empire of Windhurge stands as a shadow of its former self. The skies no longer shimmer with the presence of the Drakynths, and the winds no longer sing the songs of the Sylphs.

The once-thriving capital of Aelinthar, a city that once floated high above the clouds, now stands silent, a monument to the past. The royal family still holds power, but the trust of the people is slipping away with every passing year.

And yet, there are whispers whispers of something that could change it all. The Three of Life, ancient relics that hold the secrets of both the mythical and mortal realms, are said to be hidden somewhere in the empire.

These artifacts, once believed to be mere legend, are now the key to restoring what was lost. Some say they hold the power to bring the mythical creatures back, to restore the balance between the realms. Others believe they hold the secret to controlling the very winds themselves.

But there are darker forces at work as well.

The Dreadwind Order, a shadowy group of rogue mages and scholars, has begun to search for the Three of Life, believing that with their power, they can break the ancient promises and call the creatures back to the mortal realm for a price.

The winds grow restless as strange storms and unnatural phenomena begin to plague the land, and the boundary between the mortal and mythical worlds weakens with each passing day.

And so, the empire is torn between those who seek to restore the past and those who wish to rewrite it. Among the royal family, there is one who holds a secret Alara Windsworn, the emperor’s sister, whose gift to commune with the remnants of the mythical creatures is as rare as it is dangerous.

Drawn by visions of the Three of Life, Alara embarks on a journey with a band of unlikely companions Rydan, a rebellious wind mage; a mysterious wanderer who claims ties to the creatures; and an ancient guardian who once served the first emperor.

Together, they seek the Three of Life, hoping to restore the lost bond between humanity and the mythical creatures. But the Dreadwind Order is never far behind, and with every step they take, the winds grow darker.

The Empire of Windhurge stands at a crossroads, and its fate rests in the hands of those who dare to challenge the winds of fate. Will the secrets of the Three of Life bring salvation, or will they shatter what remains of the world forever? Only time will tell, as the winds of destiny swirl once more.

This is an interesting story... "Her phone rings with an unknown number." Huh? "she muttered, curiously answering the call." Who is this?

She couldn't understand what the person said it was just a faint whisper—or so she thought. The line cut abruptly, leaving her hanging.

Strange... "she thought, settling back into her bed and placing the book on her table." I'll continue reading you tomorrow. Watch out, "she playfully added."
