Chapter 11

After some stretching, they began running their laps. While jogging, they were also talking from time to time. Jin asked her about the books she read, why she decided to read them and such. He also asked her about her German language. Qiuyue answered him truthfully. She promised to herself that she would never lie to him.

Jin informed her too that he will go to the City Lord's office and would be back late. It meant for Qiuyue not seeing him for the whole day. She felt sad but she never showed it on her face. Instead, she asked if she can still continue reading the books in the Study.

He patted her head. "Of course. I will discuss your work tomorrow."

Qiuyue nodded and thanked him in return. They quickened their pace after talking. Jin cannot help but look at her from time to time and appreciate her looks, her body and her focus. He thought this girl really loved to work hard in every little thing.

After running, they separated their ways as they headed to their own rooms. They met at breakfast. Qiuyue also sent him off.

Qiuyue followed her routine. However, instead of reading the German book, she was writing something in that language. She started writing it yesterday and didn't finish. She also drew a symbol in the notebook.

It was 9 am in the morning. She was staring at the symbol. Her eyes were cold and full of killing intent. She used her pen and poked holes on it.

'Don't let me find you. Don't let me find you. I will kill you. I will annihilate your family. I will burn your bodies...'

Her rage was too much that the tip of the pen already reached the surface of the table. When she noticed this, she stopped moving. She closed her eyes to calm her heart and mind.

The skies were full of stars. I was hiding in the cellar with my four year old brother who was put to a deep slumber by my Father. The cellar door was ajar.

Father told me to never open it but how could I not? When the whole town was burning, when I can hear the cries of many, when I can hear the sound of guns being shot like fireworks. I shut my sense of speaking. Father told me that my brother must survive at any cost even if they were all to die that day. Father gave me the responsibility to protect my younger brother so I muted myself so that they will never hear my cries, my pleas, my curses...

I heard a loud thud and a body fell. She looked at me with her tender eyes. She smiled at me before closing her eyes.

Jin returned to his residence past nine o'clock. He headed straight to the Study to get the documents from Uwe. When he entered the room, he was startled a bit. He saw Qiuyue sleeping on her desk.

"Did you come in just now?" He asked in German.

"Yes. I never get close to your residence unless I see your car enter." He replied.

"Hm. Wait for a while." He said as he gently lifted Qiuyue to his embrace and brought her to his room.

Uwe's eyes gleamed of surprise as he watched Jin's actions. He looked at the desk where the girl was lifted from and saw a ruined notebook. He focused on its content and hurriedly grabbed it. He read the contents. He thought it was a badly written story. He flipped the pages and his eyes widened momentarily before returning to its emotionless one.

He sensed Jin approaching him. He handed the notebook to him and let him read the contents.

"Who is she?" He asked in German.

"A refugee of D City after the war." He explained as he began reading the contents. He furrowed his brow. Things were starting to make sense to him now.

Uwe then handed the documents to him and let him read the contents. The more he read them, the more his menacing aura intensified.

Uwe got the notebook and the documents from him. He placed the documents on the table. Atop was a page with a symbol. He then flipped the pages of the notebook to look for the symbol. After which, he placed the notebook beside the documents.

Jin's eyes widened momentarily. He got his phone and dialed a number. "Erase all the public information about Wu Qiuyue and Wu Huan. They must not exist." He hung up.

"Uwe, have Stein come here." Jin ordered.

"Alright." He then disappeared from the room.

Jin got both notebook and documents and kept them inside a hidden vault.

"Father... No! Stop, please stop!" Qiuyue screamed.

Jin was startled and rushed towards her who was having a nightmare. He embraced her tightly.

"No! Please... Father... Don't leave me..." Qiuyue cried out. She was drenched in sweat. Her eyes full of tears. Her brows furrowed.

"Don't worry. I will not leave you." He whispered in her ears as he rubbed her back.

Qiuyue stopped from wailing. Her furrowed brows straightened but the tears from her closed eyes were still falling down her face.

He lied her down the bed and wiped the beads of sweat in her forehead and pecked a kiss on it.

He got his phone and called a number again. "Head Butler Song, move Qiuyue's things to her new room at once." He hung up.

Jin got a basin with warm water and a towel. He also got a set of pyjamas. He gently removed her clothes and wiped her body. His inner beast was howling and trying to break free but he suppressed it.

He was also trying to calm his heart and mind after this fucking discovery. Regardless, he will protect Qiuyue with everything he got.

He let her wear his pyjama while he was waiting for Head Butler Song to move everything. Well, he ain't going to move her to the new room. He will just get her an underwear.

'How can I let this opportunity pass by?' He smirked.

He took a shower and wear a set of pyjamas. After confirming everything had been moved, he got a piece of her underwear and went back to his room. He wore it on her carefully all the while suppressing his inner beast. He decided not to let her wear the trousers. She was basically wearing a dress already with his pyjama shirt!

He lied beside her with his head leaning on his hand. She was no longer crying but her eyes still showed signs that she did.
