Flashback Continue
As the officers entered, the principal of Taehyung's college and Eunwoo’s parents arrived as well, pulling them out of the chaos. Thanks to their family’s influence, Taehyung and Eunwoo were released quickly. The eight boys, however, were lucky too. Still, someone else had their eyes on those boys—a figure in the shadows, waiting to make their own move.
After two long hours filled with trouble, confrontation, and a police case, Taehyung found himself drowning in guilt. The weight of his actions hung heavy on his shoulders as he replayed everything in his mind. He had invited someone to meet him at the back of the college at 5:00 PM. Now, it was 7:48 PM, and he hadn’t shown up.
Taehyung wasn’t one to overthink or feel guilt easily. Normally, he was carefree, living life on his terms without worrying much about anyone else. But today was different. Today, the thought of keeping someone waiting—especially Jungkook—gnawed at him relentlessly.
When the police had questioned him and Eunwoo after the fight, Taehyung had tried his best to stay calm and cooperative, but his eyes often darted to the clock on the wall. Every minute that passed felt like a personal failure.
As soon as he stepped out of the police station, he broke into a run. His body ached from the fight—his legs felt heavy, and his injured knuckles throbbed with every heartbeat—but he didn’t care. He doesn't know why he was running.
The cool evening air hit Taehyung’s face as he sprinted down the empty streets toward the college. His shirt was wrinkled, and the dried blood on his forehead itched, but he didn’t stop to fix himself.
Taehyung had always prided himself on being someone who didn’t let others down. Today, though, he felt like he was failing miserably. The memory of the fight flashed in his mind. He had acted impulsively when he heard Eunwoo was in trouble. He hadn’t stopped to think. His fists had done the talking, and though he had won the fight, it felt like a hollow victory. The guilt wasn’t just about making Jungkook wait—it was about how recklessly he had handled the situation, knowing it could have been avoided.
As he rounded the final corner, his heart raced—not from exertion, but from the thought of how much he had to explain. He didn’t know what he’d say or how he’d apologize, but one thing was clear: he’d never let this happen again. He didn’t think Jungkook would still be waiting for him, but he ran to meet him anyway, whether he was there or not.
