The Beginning of a New Life

The pain in my body is unbearable... I feel like someone is trying to kill me. I don't know what to do, but I can't die. My child, Anu, is waiting for me. I can't leave her now.

It's all his fault. If only I hadn't fallen for him... If only I had known better. I wish I could turn back time and never have loved him. But it's too late now. What's done is done. Still, why can't I forget him? Why am I thinking of the man who broke my trust, the one who promised everything and gave nothing?

And my child... Anu...

It all started two years ago...

Two Years Ago:

"Priya... get up! Priya!"

It was my mother, Mahalakshmi, yelling for over 20 minutes.

"Maa, five more minutes... please," I groaned, pulling the blanket over my head.

"Get up now, or I'll pour water on you!"

I rolled my eyes. She never let me sleep in peace.

I finally got up, knowing she wouldn't stop. "Amma, I'm telling Appa about you!" I yelled. "You're not letting me sleep!"

"Tell him all you want! I don't care. It's your first day at work today, and you're going to be late!"

I ran to get ready, trying to avoid the lecture that was sure to follow.

"Maa, I'm not giving you my salary if you keep this up!" I said, pretending I couldn't hear her.

My father, Mohan, sighed as he read his newspaper. "These two never stop fighting. If I get in between them, they'll blame me. It's better to just sit quietly and enjoy my morning."

"Appa, you're not even trying to solve their problems!" my sister Rani laughed.

"I just want some peace. Let me enjoy my time!" Appa replied, shaking his head. "I'm not getting involved in their fights."

"Don't call us devils, Mohan!" Mom shouted. "No sweets for you today!"

"Please, don't say that," he begged, looking at my mom like a lost puppy. "I'm your cute husband, right? Please don't take the sweets away!"

Rani smirked. "Appa, don't be sad. I'll give you my sweets."

"You will?" Appa smiled, finally winning Rani over. "You're my princess. Your mother ... doesn't care about me."

"Priya, don't listen to him. I was going to give you my sweets too, but now I'm not," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Just kidding!" Appa laughed. "You know you're my little princess."

I chuckled at my father's antics. He could be such a disaster when he was serious, but usually, he was the most relaxed guy. Except when it came to love. He was strict about that. He didn't trust this generation. He'd seen too many fake promises, too many broken hearts. And he was determined we wouldn't fall into that trap.

Ram Kumar's POV

It was 6 AM when my alarm rang. I got up, went for a jog, and then freshened up for work. I'm a police officer, and as soon as I arrived at the station, I got a call about an accident at the railway station.

When I got there, I saw a girl sitting on a bench, looking at the scene in front of her. She had long, frizzy hair, and she looked so delicate. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She wasn't just beautiful, but there was something about her that intrigued me.

As I stood observing, I noticed her staring back at me. For a second, I thought she was angry at me, but then I saw the curiosity in her eyes. She was... cute. And I couldn't help but think she had a fire in her.

Priya's POV

I was sitting there, confused by the commotion around me. I had no idea what was happening at the railway station. Then, I noticed a police officer staring at me. My heart raced. Why was he looking at me like that? Was he thinking I was a criminal?

I stared back at him, trying to figure out what he was thinking. For a moment, I thought he was handsome. But I quickly snapped myself out of it. No, Priya. Don't fall for a handsome face.

But, the way he looked at me, like he wanted to know me... it left me wondering.

Ram

She was looking at me like an angry little bird, and I couldn't help but smile. There was something about her that made me want to know more.
