Alvaro carried the still-sleeping Luca into the mansion, his heart heavy with worry. The grand interior of the house was silent, only the sound of his footsteps echoing through the hallways. He carefully opened the door to Luca to his room and gently laid him on the bed.
Luca stirred slightly but didn’t wake up, his face pale and his breathing uneven. Alvaro pulled the blanket over him, tucking him in like he had done when Luca was a child. He sat on the edge of the bed, his hand brushing through Luca’s soft hair.

(softly): “You’re safe now, my baby. No one will hurt you again. Not while I’m here.”
