The morning light crept through the tall, mullioned windows, painting the chamber in hues of gold and amber. A faint mist lingered outside, softening the outlines of the distant garden, where birds began their tentative songs. The toll of a distant church bell broke the stillness, marking the first hour of the day. Somewhere below, the muffled rhythm of hooves and the clink of metal hinted at the castle stirring to life. A cool breeze slipped through the cracked window, carrying the faint, earthy scent of dew-kissed stone and early blooms, whispering promises of the day to come.
Diana/Astenia laid nestled among the silken sheets, her figure barely stirring beneath the layers of plush bedding. Her dark lashes fluttered against her cheeks, still kissed by the soft flush of sleep. The golden morning light crept through the cracks in the curtains, brushing her face with gentle warmth
She stirred, her hand slipping from beneath the quilt to rest atop the smooth fabric, her fingers curling slightly as though grasping at the remnants of sleep. A faint sigh escaped her lips, her body reluctant to rise despite the growing light filtering into the room.

Never had such good sleep for a long time..
She fluttered open her eyes, checking the surroundings slowly.

What a nightmare I had! Atleast, the guy was handsome. Totally worth it.
She exclaimed, closing her eyes again

Wait a second. [she muttered]
She opened one eyes, carefully checked out her surroundings.
And closed her eyes instantly without hesitation

I am still in a nightmare. Just sleep again and everything will be fine. [She whispered to herself, caressing her own body]
The soft creak of the wooden door broke the quiet, its hinges protesting faintly as it eased open
Beatrice De Gusto [FL's Mother]
Is she even alive? [She whispered, not so quietly]
Astrodome De Gusto [FL's Father]
I don't know. Go and check her. [Pushing his wife a bit]

Hey, did I marry you to push me to the lion's cage?? [Glared at the duke]
Astrodome De Gusto [FL's Father]
[side eyed] Then, why did you threatened me to marry you? [He angrily whispered back]

How would I know that you would such a coward to be scared of a little threat? [She rolled her eyes at him]

[Eyes widened] Small threat? You threatened to cu- [He was cut off]

Would you both shut it? [He snapped at both his parents who were arguing like children]
He sighed and shook their head at them before walking towards the bed, where laid his baby sister.

[He caressed her head softly, sitting beside her in the bed]

My daughter is dead [A faint shimmer glistened in her eyes]
Both Father-Son duo rolled their eyes at the duchess dramatics

Still alive [dead-panned, stared at front with no hope in life]

My princess, heard from Nikolai that you were nearly on the verge of killing him for waking you up and then fainted, hearing your own name

That snitch [She yelled]

[He laughed at his daughter's funny reaction]

Looks like my daughter still has screw in her head and perfectly healthy.

God, leave me alone, you all [She murmured loudly, enough for them to hear]

Alright, alright, leave my beautiful daughter alone. [She came and kissed Astenia on her forehead, patting her soft silk hair]

I am calling the maids, freshen up and come down for breakfast, alright? [She softly spoke the word, her eyes speaking volumes, a tender and unguarded reflection of love]

Yes, mother. [She gave a soft, gentle reply, her voice barely above a whisper]
Three of them left her all alone in the big chamber.

Her eyes, blank and unreadable, flickered with a hint of frustration, though the way her brow furrowed comically betrayed the seriousness of the moment.

Mother, save me! I'm about to be devoured by this waste of a novel. [Her eyes wide with mock terror, as if facing a true crisis]]
With an exaggerated groan, she yanked the blankets over her head and flung the pillow beside her onto the floor,
