Her mother, resplendent in a vibrant silk saree, bustled around the room, getting ready for the day. She paused in front of the dresser, expertly adjusting her mangalsutra and earrings. Turning to her daughter, she said, "Beta, please put down your phone and listen to me for a minute."
The girl reluctantly looked up, her dark eyes sparkling with distraction. "What is it, Maa?" she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of impatience.
