"Come I'll introduce you to my staff "

A few moments later, Asher returned to the center of the hall with the guest, exchanging cordial smiles and handshakes.
Anvi still couldn’t see him clearly, but her anticipation only grew.
Rachel approached her again, holding a clipboard.

"Anvi, it’s time. You'll be presenting to the guest."
Anvi nodded, swallowing her apprehension.
Anvi Kapoor
"Alright. Who is he?"
Rachel didn’t answer right away. Instead, she gestured toward the far end of the room where the guest stood, speaking with Asher.
Anvi followed Rachel’s gaze, and as her eyes landed on the man, her breath hitched. Her entire body went cold, her fingers tightening around the folder she was holding.

*eyes widened*
He looked the same yet different—still impeccably dressed, exuding the same intimidating aura.
But now, there was a slight hint of weariness on his face, as though life had been no kinder to him than it had been to her.
Anvi's heart thudded painfully in her chest. She couldn’t believe this was happening.

Rachel's voice snapped her out of her trance.
She stammered, her voice barely audible
Rachel
"Good. You’re up in five minutes. Just breathe and do what you do best."
Rachel gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder and walked away.
Anvi stood rooted to the spot, her mind a whirlwind of emotions.
How was she supposed to face him after everything?

"Why, of all places, was he here tonight?"
She froze, her hands trembling. It had been over 2 year since she had last seen him—the man she once loved, her husband, and the father of her child.
She can't let him see her .
She can't let her past destroy her future too.
She couldn't decide what to do.
How is she going to face him?
Why she hid the truth of her existence?.
