That being said, thereat a few things I’d like to point out before I shove you down the rabbi thole. You won’t find likable characters within these pages, and definitely no Prince Charming. These characters are selfish, manipulative, destructive, and volatile. They lie and cheat. If that’s not your thing, I advise against reading any further. It was also very important for me to allow Keira to have a voice. As such, this book navigates the sensitive subject of the death penalty from her perspective as the daughter of a serial killer, and the emotional upheaval she goes through. Please remember, it’s a fictional story with imperfect, fictional characters. It’s not intended as a political statement, nor is it to reinterpreted as a representation of the author’s views.
