The Huntress and the Wizard
The magical forest, a territory marginalized from the rest of the world separated from humanity, an area of one of the races feared for its brute force and hostility towards living beings, there was Kim, a demon with navy blue hair due to his race sharing that characteristic.
His steps could be heard stepping on the green path while the strands of his head shone the most beautiful blue due to the moonlight bouncing on them.
The trees around him had almost no leaves but were numerous trunks of wood as hard to cut as a stone.
In that forest Kim was dedicated to hunting with his daughter Tae who was learning how to do it properly, she did not look very happy about it but her face showed no doubts.
Kim who was a beast of wild monster skins carried a bident with which he attacked the enormous monsters until they were weakened.
Monsters of great size were defeated with great ease for that experienced demon.
—Now!—. Kim exclaims.
Tae lunges forward, expelling a timid "HAAA" at the top of her lungs to attack, swinging the bident in her hands to pierce the monster's heart.
—Well done, daughter—. Kim gives her approval with a small smile while her little daughter with sweat on her face struggles not to make any mistakes in front of her father.
For this race, these monsters are nothing more than food and tools, but for an inexperienced girl like Tae, it is a challenge.
She was bad at hunting unlike her friends, she hates confrontation but it is a tradition in the demon tribe that when she turns 15 years old she goes out to hunt for the first time in the distance.
Going alone and returning home with skins, meat and their useful parts is the demonstration of power that is asked of her children.
Kim should not be accompanying her.
Tae inhaled and exhaled to stay calm before the enormous monster that fell in front of her due to her weapon.
—I-Is he already dead?—. She asked, shyly hugging her bident with both arms, bringing it close to her chest, but with a smile on her face.
"Of course, she won't get up again," Kim said kindly.
Kim was nervous, scared, and he didn't think he could leave his daughter alone, knowing that she wasn't especially strong or skilled with her bident.
"I'll help you for a few days, then you can do it yourself," was his excuse, breaking every rule. He was different from other parents and that bothered Tae.
Tae had no choice but to accept.
"Now take off the skin, flesh, and bones," he said, approaching her.
Totally disgusted, she prepared a knife to skin the monster, leaving a pool of blood on her feet.
"This is disgusting," she thought as she separated the skin from the body.
Her eyes began to get wet, a lump was felt in her throat "This is humiliating and grotesque" she thought while trying not to cry, she bit her lower lip and continued her work without complaints or questions.
—I hear steps... —. Kim says warning her.
It was the sound of wild wolves running, they would not be problems for someone experienced in hunting like Kim is.
Little by little the steps became louder and more numerous.
A pack. No... A group of packs united.
—What's wrong? What's happening? —. Tae asks when she sees her father's worried face.
—To the tree! NOW! —. While pointing with her finger to one of the trees with few leaves.
Tae hesitates for a moment but seeing her father upset despite always being so calm made her feel forced to move away from the battle.
She climbs the tree almost in one jump with her characteristic strength of a demon of the royal hunting race.
—Don't worry, this isn't a problem—. He says.
Seeing a huge pack of dark wolves around him, they surround Kim in an instant in a threatening manner.
"There are many of them, he won't be able to handle so many alone" he thought.
Tae knew the behavior of wolves and feels that something is not right.
—Dad!—.
—You calm down— He responds immediately —Watch how to hunt and learn—. Full of confidence pointing his bident at the wolves.
While they cornered Kim in a circle he watched carefully each one of them around him turning on every survival sense in him.
"I'm sure that at this moment I will impress my daughter" Kim thought.
—Get away!—. Tae shouts waving his bident.
His daughter's words alerted Kim who was focused only on him.
"Impossible, the wolves of the labyrinth do not know how to climb" He thought while watching how the pack divided to attack both of them as a group.
The wolves were intelligent but they only attacked one at a time and had never done anything like that.
Tae attacks the wolves causing them to fall from the tree.
—Ug!—. A wolf bites Tae's leg due to carelessness.
—Damn it—. He mutters in hatred at the wolf.
Kim doesn't think twice and throws the bident through the wolf's body, piercing its body and sticking into the hard trunk.
They hurt the most important thing that exists for him, his own daughter.
Furious and without his trusty weapon, he attacks the wolves with his bare fists, defeating them as if it were nothing, although he received a few scratches from them, it was not important.
He tries to go towards Tae but the wolves do not allow it, these wild monsters were strangely different from the ones he knew.
—I'm going to fight! —. Tae said when he saw his father in trouble.
—No, don't let the wolves reach you! —. He orders him to go up even higher.
—Understood—.
Tae chose to leave everything to his father, seeing how he defeated each one without his spear.
Even though Kim was strong, the number is superior to him.
The spear... He needs it. She thought and even though the wolves climbed to catch it, she decided to take courage, if she didn't, her father could get hurt and her mother would put on that face of disapproval again.
The pain in her leg slows her down and the wolves have a hard time climbing with the blood of their dead comrade spread.
—I have it! —. She exclaimed proudly removing her father's weapon nailed tightly to the tree.
She struggles but it is so hard that it is impossible for her to free it.
Kim who was busy getting rid of those hairy nuisances with his fists watches his daughter disobey.
—I told you not to do it! —. He exclaims angrily.
A wolf bites Tae's arm.
—Gaah! —. He screams in pain.
Kim despairs when she sees her arm bleeding in the mouth of the furious wolf that moved despite being pierced by the bident.
Slowly the wolves approach her trapped in the wolf's mouth.
Kim throws herself at it with fury and desperation but the wolves stop her.
—TAEEE!—. She exhales at the top of her lungs when she sees that she can do nothing but watch her daughter die.
Soon the wolves began to fall from the tree shot by cuts of a transparent color like water that shone under the moonlight.
The attacks do not stop and the wolves fall including the one that bit Tae.
A young man with dark brown hair brandishing two swords comes to the girl in danger.
