Episode 08
Jungkook stumbles through the door of their apartment, carrying the weight of a long, tiring day at work.
His mind is occupied with thoughts of upcoming meetings and deadlines, but a gnawing sense of emptiness lingers in the back of his mind.
As he steps inside, something feels different. The apartment is too quiet, too still.
Jungkook sets down his briefcase, glancing around, expecting to see Taehyung curled up on the couch or maybe sitting by the window.
But the room is empty, eerily so.
His stomach twists as he notices Taehyung’s favorite blanket folded neatly on the armchair, untouched.
Jeon Jungkook
(calling out as he moves through the apartment)
Jeon Jungkook
Taehyung? Babe, are you here?
He checks the kitchen, the bedroom, even the bathroom, but there’s no sign of Taehyung.
His heart starts pounding as he returns to the living room, eyes scanning the room more closely this time.
His gaze lands on the coffee table—and there it is. Taehyung’s letter, resting next to his wedding ring.
Jungkook’s face goes pale as he reaches out, his fingers trembling.
He picks up the letter, unfolding it with a sense of dread, and begins to read.
With every line, a mixture of shock, regret, and pain twists his expression.
Jeon Jungkook
No… Taehyung… why?
Jeon Jungkook
(whispering, his voice strained)
He sinks onto the couch, his hands shaking as he re-reads the letter, clinging to each word as if it might somehow bring Taehyung back.
The reality of Taehyung’s departure hits him like a punch, shattering the bubble of work and routine he’s been wrapped in.
Flashbacks start flooding Jungkook’s mind, memories of Taehyung’s quiet smiles, the way he would look at him with hope and love, the countless nights Taehyung waited up alone as Jungkook buried himself in work.
Every small moment, every gesture he had overlooked, now returns with painful clarity.
Jeon Jungkook
I… I pushed him away. (to himself, his voice breaking)
Jeon Jungkook
I was so focused on work, I didn’t see what it was doing to us… what it was doing to him. 😢
He clutches the ring in his hand, staring at it as if it holds the answer to bringing Taehyung back.
Desperation sets in, a deep regret filling him as he realizes just how much he has taken Taehyung for granted.
Jungkook slumps against the couch, reeling from the emotional impact of Taehyung’s absence.
The memories of their happier days together haunt him, filling the apartment with an unbearable sense of loss.
Jeon Jungkook
Taehyung… please, don’t do this. 😭
Jeon Jungkook
(voice soft, almost pleading as he stares at the empty room)
Jeon Jungkook
Come back. I’ll make it right, I swear. 😭
But his voice echoes hollowly in the silence, reminding him that Taehyung is gone, and he has no one to blame but himself.
Later that night, Jungkook lies awake in their empty bed, Taehyung’s side of the bed cold and untouched.
He clutches Taehyung’s pillow, the faintest trace of his scent lingering, bringing tears to his eyes.
He realizes that, for the first time in years, he is alone—and it’s a loneliness he’s brought upon himself.
Jeon Jungkook
I’ll find you, Taehyung. (determined, whispering into the dark)
Jeon Jungkook
I’ll do whatever it takes to win you back. I’ll fix this… I promise.

That's what they all say. "I'll be better." "I'll make it right." "It won't happen again." "I'm sorry." "I promise."
But these words usually don't make a difference. After a few days, things go back to the way they were even without realising that they are hurting their other half. Rarely do people actually end up "making it right". 🙂
