So I went out of the classroom to pick it up. It was mom’s. As I answered it, I didn’t hear anything from her side. Adjusting my glasses, I again asked,

I looked for Lia in the whole room. But couldn’t find her. She was nowhere. My mom came to me and cried on my shoulders. While I was still processing about what was happening. The nurses pull down the white sheet and I saw her.

I couldn’t control my tears. I sobbed holding my mom. My glasses were getting foggy but who cares about that at this moment??

After some moment we calmed down. I turned to mom and asked her about Evie. Without answering me she just pulled me out of the room. Holding both of my hands she started saying,
