Episode 5

In the imposing office of the Supreme Alfas, Cedrik sat down to discuss a proposal for expansion in the port sector. The environment was imposing, with glass walls that revealed a panoramic view of the port, whose operations were controlled by the twins. The solidity of the place reflected the influence of the brothers, who managed the empire with the precision of warriors.

As the meeting was underway, the office door opened silently. Aliya entered, carrying a thick envelope with documents her father had forgotten at home. Despite her hesitation, she knew she had to keep her word to bring them. Cedrik gave her a cold look, not hiding his discomfort.

"Aliya," he said in a harsh tone. "I told you it wasn't necessary for you to come."

She remained calm. "These are important documents, Father. I thought it best to bring them."

But before he could dismiss her, Aiden intervened, a hint of curiosity in his tone. “Aliya, have you worked with logistics before?”

She looked at him and answered firmly: “I studied in Germany, and there I had contact with some practices. I learned a bit about transport control.”

"Tell us, in the port sector, specifically, what techniques would you consider to mitigate storage problems?” asked the Supreme.

Cedrik was preparing to stop her from answering, but the young woman just nodded and replied in a firm voice, which barely disguised her irritation at being interrupted on her way out.

"There are several options for the port," she began, looking directly at Aiden. "If the issue is to optimize storage and avoid losses during transport, integration with temperature-controlled systems, and the use of humidity and motion sensors, is essential. In some parts of Europe, this not only prevents damage to products but also saves resources by accurately monitoring high-traffic points, prioritizing circulation and distribution.”

There was a brief silence in the office. Cedrik cleared his throat, visibly uncomfortable with his daughter's quick and direct answer. “Aliya, this is no longer a matter for you,” he said, giving her an incisive look.

Aiden maintained a neutral expression, but a glint of approval crossed his eyes before he turned back to her father. “Interesting,” he murmured. “Not everyone understands the complexity of the sector.”

Cedrik smiled, trying to regain control of the meeting. “Aliya has always been curious, but, as I said, this is not her place.”

Kael, who had been observing the scene in silence, merely gave a slight nod for Aliya to leave, his face impassive, but his eyes glinted, assessing her as if seeing something beyond appearances.

After she left, the twins exchanged glances, revealing a mixture of surprise and recognition. That young omega seemed to be more than they had imagined. However, neither of them commented on it, and the meeting continued without incident.

...****************...

The full moon shone over the ocean, bathing the mansion and its surroundings in a silvery light. Kael was alone on the balcony, his eyes lost in the vastness of the sea, when he heard slow footsteps approaching. He didn't need to turn around to know it was Aiden. His brother arrived with a cold expression, his intense eyes fixed on Kael, a frosty glint betraying the displeasure he carried.

“I heard you met with her yesterday, Kael,” Aiden began, direct, without beating around the bush.

The man turned slowly, frowning. “It was a coincidence, Aiden. I was in the forest, and she appeared. There was no intention of breaking our agreement.”

Aiden crossed his arms, his gaze even colder. “Coincidence?” His voice sounded with restrained irony. “Funny.”

Kael kept his gaze fixed on his brother, a spark of irritation igniting on his face. “It wasn't supposed to happen, Aiden. You know how much our agreement matters to me. I didn't plan anything.”

“You didn't plan it, but it happened anyway. And now you tell me it was just chance? I thought you took the agreement seriously.” Aiden's voice was low but sharp, laden with a controlled anger he rarely showed.

Kael’s face tightened, his jaw tense. “I do take it seriously, Aiden. But unlike you, I don't watch her as if I'm trying to break the distance we said we'd maintain. Or do you want to tell me what that interrogation about logistics was today?”

Aiden laughed dryly, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of anger and jealousy. “At least I didn’t have to sneak out to talk to her, Kael. I asked a question about something we were already discussing. She came in, and that was all.”

“That was all?” Kael narrowed his eyes, his tone hardening. “If you want to know the truth, you have difficulty keeping any promise when there's something that interests you more. Want an example? How about Havenna?”

Aiden froze, his eyes darkening at the mention of the name. He maintained a rigid expression, but his irritation intensified. “Havenna? That was centuries ago, Kael. Are you still clinging to that?”

Kael took a step forward, his voice lower but full of resentment. “It’s not about what happened with her, Aiden. It’s about your lack of consideration. You knew what she meant to me, and yet, you decided you could do as you pleased.”

Aiden clenched his fists, his gaze intense. “You're clinging to something you should have left behind. And we're not talking about Havenna, but about Aliya. About us. This agreement we made was to preserve the unity between us. And, as much as you want to deflect the issue, I'm not the only one breaking it.”

Kael took a deep breath, his expression hardening. “The point is, if she becomes a point of contention, it could destroy us. We've always had unity, trust. And if Aliya becomes a reason for a dispute… it could end what we are.”

“We don't need to run from what's happening. If you think denying it will solve anything, you're mistaken,” Aiden replied, his voice laden with a somber conviction. He moved closer, the tension between them almost palpable. “Pretending nothing is changing won't protect us.”

Kael looked away towards the sea, his eyes filled with an anguish he tried to contain. “The issue isn't running away, Aiden. It's that if we lose the respect we have for each other, we'll destroy what we've built over centuries.”

The silence stretched between them, heavy with a weight they both felt. Finally, Aiden nodded, his gaze softening slightly as he acknowledged the truth in his brother's words. He knew Aliya represented a force that could either drive them apart or unite them more than they had ever imagined.

Both remained silent, contemplating the horizon, aware that Aliya's presence changed everything.
