(Just as she began to ascend the staircase, the sudden thunder of a high-pitched, furious voice jolted her to a standstill.)

Taking a cautious step back, she sought refuge in the shadows, every instinct screaming at her to retreat.

In a blur of motion, the lady turned just as the reality of the situation set in, her eyes widening in terror as she realized the danger bearing down upon her.

Time resumed its normal pace, and in that fleeting heartbeat,

She stumbled backward, narrowly avoiding the crushing impact.

*The truck veered, tires screeching against the asphalt, as I lunged forward, grabbing the woman’s arm just in time to pull her out*

And both of them fell on the muddy ground looking at the truck which passed by them.
