Ep 10 - Save them
- This is the story of a girl...of a truly strong girl. A girl who grew up in a place so dark it broke her spirit, over and over again, until the thought of ending it all felt like her only escape. But she never gave up. No matter how deep the scars ran, the fire inside her refused to die. And that same fire would one day rage so fiercely, it would consume everything in its path. -
- It began the day the Duke came to the orphanage. He smiled warmly, kneeling to meet her at eye level, promising her a new life—one where she would be cherished, cared for, and loved. He told her she was special. That she would be his precious daughter. -
- And the little girl, just five years old, with tiny hands clutching the hem of his cloak, believed him. With the innocent hope only a child could have, she followed him, her eyes wide with wonder. She imagined the grand life ahead...the grand halls, the elegant carriages, the endless gardens. The Dukedom sounded like a fairytale, and her heart was full, brimming with dreams she had never dared to dream before. -
- But the moment she crossed the threshold of that majestic estate, everything shattered. -
- Standing at the top of the grand staircase, framed by the glow of chandeliers, was a girl who looked down on her like she was dirt underfoot. Cold eyes, filled with disdain, stared into her soul, snuffing out the flicker of hope before it could bloom. It was as if, in that instant, the child understood...this was not the home she had imagined. -
- That girl, the Duke’s real daughter, Verity Ruth Aldridge, didn’t smile. She didn’t welcome her. There was no kindness, no warmth. Just a glare that said, You don’t belong here. -
- The light in the little girl’s heart dimmed, and the fairytale she thought she’d stepped into dissolved into a nightmare. From that day forward, the walls of the estate closed in on her like a prison, and every kindness the Duke had promised turned to ash. The girl, Dorothea, realized that her new life was not one of love and belonging. -
- It was a battlefield. -
- And no one was coming to... -
