"You don’t have to do this, Elara," Amelia whispered, her voice soft but urgent. "I know you feel like you’re trapped, but there are other options. You’re a strong woman."
Victor shot Amelia a cold glare, and she stepped back. Elara smiled weakly at Amelia, appreciating the sentiment, but the decision had already been made.

"I have no choice," she whispered back.
Elara’s hands shook as she set the pen down, the weight of her decision crashing over her like a tidal wave. She couldn’t believe it had come to this. She loved Victor, but the man standing in front of her felt like a stranger.

"How could you ask this of me?" Elara’s voice cracked. She met his gaze, hoping for some sign of remorse, some glimpse of the man she had married. "I loved you. I trusted you, Victor."
Victor’s expression softened for a fleeting moment, a flash of guilt crossing his face. But it was gone as quickly as it appeared.

"This is bigger than us, Elara," he said, his tone cold once again. "Isabella deserves to live. You’ve always been so kind... so selfless. This is the right thing to do."
