Finally Married

I looked at myself in the mirror. I was beautiful, yes I was absolutely beautiful. But I didn't feel beautiful, instead I felt anxious, worried and scared. Not the type of emotions a bride would feel on her wedding day. I tried to think positive but I couldn't. I was too anxious. Not only that, but I mostly worried about how my soon-to-be-husband was like. I wondered if he was just like father. Well, I would soon find out. My mother and Peter had said there was a benefit to this marriage.

"Think about this way, if you become royalty, your father won't have power over you."

It was true, getting married to the Crown Prince would be a sure way of making my father kneel and bow to me, every time he saw me. That made me cheer up bit and I smiled. I checked my appearance one last time and headed outside to the carriage. I stepped in and sat down gracefully.

"Let's go."

And we left.

We arrived at the St. Martins Church at 10 am. I stepped out and saw my father outside, just behind the tall, huge and white doors. Wow, my father sure was committed to this marriage. He smiled at me, which was something that he had never done. I guess he was really happy about this. I walked confidently towards my father and greeted him.

" Good morning Father." I said as I placed my hand in his outstretched palm.

" Good morning my lovely daughter."

Okay, this was officially becoming weird. I just nodded, and the guards opened the doors for us. We walked in elegantly as we waited for the next set of the tall and huge white doors to open.

" Don't disappoint me and be a good wife." My father whispered.

I just nodded and took a deep breath as the doors opened. The hall was beautifully decorated. There was chandeliers in white and gold that reflected light that was dazzling. There was also balloons and a lot of guests. I could see that the wealthy was on one side and royalty on the next. On the side of the wealthy, I could see my mother and brothers and they smiled on me, even Paul and Patrick. As I walked ahead, I saw my husband-to-be. He was extremely handsome, actually he was beautiful. With his jet black hair and his strangely piercing red eyes, he could have a model or even better.. an escort.

No, snap out of it! I reminded myself. I didn't know this man or what he was like, and I didn't know what was waiting for me at the Royal Palace. I squared my shoulders and walked confidently to the pulpit with my father.

Adrian's POV:

It was finally happening. This marriage, this trap. I knew my father wasn't the type to estrangle his children in political affairs, especially me. So if he was strongly insisting that I marry this girl, it must be really important. I took a deep breath and looked at my bride. She was beautiful, but beautiful was an understatement. She was like a goddess. There was veil over her face but it was thin, so I could her face clearly. I liked how she looked me straight in face instead of just looking at floor. It seems this wife of mine was not meek or shy at all. I took her hand and faced the priest. We said our vows and placed the rings on each other's finger. Everything after that went by fast, soon we were in the carriage and was heading back to the Royal Palace.
