Laura turned to check on Frida, but she was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, Frida's voice echoed from above. "Up here!" she shouted, perched on a tree branch.
Laura's wonder was cut short as Frida asked, "Can you distract that woman while I analyze this?"
Frida compared the white sticky liquid she'd escaped from with her earlier scanner gun results. Meanwhile, the woman summoned glowing white tentacles from the ground, trying to grab Laura.
Dodging while flying, Laura struggled to evade the tentacles. One nearly caught her, but she punched it, only to be electrocuted. Absorbing the electricity, she was quickly engulfed in white chains, tightening around her from head to toe.
The chains constricted Laura's breathing, leaving no gaps or space between her body and the restraints. Her vision began to blur, and she realized she had to act fast to escape.
Frida, oblivious to Laura's predicament, remained focused on her analysis. "Almost got it..." she muttered, as Laura's situation grew more dire.
Laura's eyes widened as a sudden realization hit her. "Wait, what am I doing?" she thought to herself. With newfound clarity, she effortlessly broke free from the chains that bound her.
Frida's grin grew wider. "Laura, the energy surrounding the trail's end and that white sticky liquid share the same aura!" she exclaimed.
Before Laura could process Frida's words, the woman with bat wings took to the skies, her massive, snow-white wings beating powerfully. Frida seized the moment, producing another cube-like device. With a maniacal glint in her eye, she pressed the button, releasing a high-speed net that ensnared the winged woman.
The woman's body began to radiate a brilliant white glow, and in an instant, she vanished.
Frida's eyes widened as the mysterious woman vanished into thin air. Laura turned to her, voice barely above a whisper, "Well, she's gone. Let's get back to school before anyone notices our absence." Frida nodded swiftly, still processing the eerie encounter.
As they hastened away, the mysterious woman materialized within an underground bunker, hidden beneath the abandoned Blackwood Forest that happened to be in the normies world. Danger signs scarred the rusted gates, warning brave civilians to keep their distance. The once-lush forest now loomed ominously, shrouded in an aura of foreboding.
The woman's gaze swept across the dimly lit room, filled with flickering fluorescent lights and rows of dusty computer terminals. A lone figure emerged from the shadows – a hooded figure, awaiting her return.
"Report," the figure commanded, voice distorted by a vocal modulator.
"That's none of your business" She replied harshly
The mysterious figure bowed respectfully, his eyes cast downward. "He's waiting for you, ma'am."
She strode past him, her hand grasping the door handle. She paused, turning back with an icy stare. "Next time, address me without condescension. I won't hesitate to tear out your wind pipe."
The man's face paled, his neck prickling as he felt her sharp demon tail subtly caressed him. "I-I apologize, ma'am," he stuttered.
With a smile, she opened the door and slipped inside. The warm living room enveloped her, featuring a crackling fireplace, plush bear-skin rug and sleek red couches. Jonathan lounged on the central couch, phone in hand, his striking brown hair and captivating purple eyes sparkling.
"Sia, back already?" he asked, curiosity and concern etched on his face.
"Needed some excitement," she replied, settling beside him. "Surveillance was stale. I craved action."
Jonathan chuckled, his sly smile widening. "So, you hunted instead? Bringing back trophies, I presume?"
Sia's gaze drifted, her expression guarded. "Let's just say plans unraveled. The prey proved elusive."
Jonathan's eyes narrowed. "Complications?"
Sia nodded. "Unforeseen circumstances. But I'll adjust."
Jonathan's phone buzzed, breaking the silence. He glanced at the screen before focusing on Sia. "You're safe; that's what matters."
Sia's gaze softened, a rare vulnerability flashing. "Thanks, Jonathan."
Sia slid onto Jonathan's lap, her voice seductive. "Let's discuss...other kinds of business." Her eyes sparkled with seduction.
Jonathan's smile mirrored hers, his fingers gently unbuttoning her white jacket. "What kind of business?"
Sia's lips brushed his ear. "Don't feign ignorance, Jonathan. I know you've been dying for this moment."
Their lips met, passion igniting.
Meanwhile, Laura and Frida sneaked back into school, unnoticed or so they thought. Dominic, watching from the shadows, had witnessed Frida's departure and Laura's return. His piercing red wolf eyes gleamed menacingly.
"Laura, you have some explaining to do" Dominic thought, his gaze fixed on the pair.
Unaware of Dominic's glare and awareness of their night activitie, Laura and Frida slipped quietly into the school. But their secrecy was short-lived.
