Chapter 1
Somewhere, in the middle of the jungle.
Liora
💭 Ouch! Did something just fall on my chest? Are those mice falling from the ceiling again?
Liora
💭 Water? Why is the floor so spiky? What…
Liora
💭 Huhhh?! Where am I?! Oh god, did I get kidnapped?
Liora, whose body trembled with a mix of confusion and fear, began to frantically pat all over herself.
Her mind racing to determine if this was some bizarre reality or just another lucid dream that spawned from her extreme exhaustion.
As the fog of disbelief began to clear and her realization set in, Liora’s eyes welled with tears, and the world around her seemed to tilt and spin.
Liora
💭 Oh god… what stupid predicament am I stuck in now?
The harsh reality of her situation set in.
Everything in her life is already going wrong. Just when she thought that she had managed to get a grip on her myriad of problems, the universe comes knocking at her doorstep wanting to drag her around another fiasco.
As soon as she started to sob uncrontrollably, sniffing and wiping snot from her nose, a white furred bunny hopped along in front of her.
Liora
Oh [sniff] hi there…
Liora tried to smile, her face puffy and eyes red from crying, but also couldn’t help a twinge of frustration towards the creature innocently twitching its whiskers in front of her.
How annoying it was to be face with something who has no doubt never encountered problems in life. As if it came here to mock me for being unable to deal with life’s obstacles. The sight of it felt like a cruel joke, reminding her of her own struggles and making her feel even more helpless.
She realized, with a sharp pang of irony, that the bunny wasn’t to blame. It had simply found peace in its own way.
She only had herself to blame for the path she took that stemmed from her ambitiousness. Non-stop work for a job that paid minimum that it could, with only an unlikely offer for her to be promoted to a slighlty higher position.
Liora
💭 All my life, I worked hard, excellently following everything and doing my best. Yet this is how the universe repays me?!…
She kept trying, even though her tears and snot had already dried up. Her lips quivered as she tried to suppress the pain from her soul that was threatening to come out.
It was unusual for Liora to cry like this. Normally, she was seen as assertive and forgiving, never the one to crumble under pressure easily.
But how could someone not cry in a situation like this?
Liora
Woah, woah WOAH WHAT THE HELL
Startled, Liora dell onto her bottom, landing on a few sharp pebbles that dug into her skin.
Rubbing the sore spot on her back, she quickly got on her feet as the bunny with the strange voice hopped closer to her.
Realizing how unusual the situation was even more, Liora’s eyes widened as the bunny began to speak.
Roe
Do not be afraid. I mean you no harm. I’ve been sent to guide you on this journey. Currenltly, you’ve traveled back to 2500 BCE-
Liora
💭 Gosh! Am I turning insane now?! Bunnies talking? Get a grip Liora, turning insane shouldn’t be a problem for you.
Before the bunny could continue, Liora interrupted.
Liora
Back to 2500 BCE? Are you kidding me? This can’t be real. That isn’t even possible.
Liora
Just tell where I am, NOW.
Liora
💭 You really are turning insane, talking to some rabbit.
Roe
It’s very real Liora. The forces that brought you here are beyond ordinary something. Your presence in this time is part of a greater plan.
Liora
A greater plan? What the hell are you talking about? And why me?
Roe
You’ve been chosen to play a pivotal role in events that will shape the future. But first, you must understand the world you’ve entered and the challenged you’ll face here.
Liora
This is insane. I don’t even know where to start. What even is there to know more about? I’m in a literal jungle.
Roe
That’s why I’m here. Follow me, and I’ll help you navigate this area. There is so much to learn and even more at stake.
Liora, taking the chances, and knowing she doesn’t have anything better else to do, followed the bunny.
Liora
Alright, show me what I need to do. But if this some king of twisted joke, I swear—
Roe
It’s no joke. Trust me. Your journey begins now.
