[Dante’s jaw tightens. He steps closer, his voice low and steady as if the truth might break her even more.]
Dante
Luca didn’t just betray you with Bianca. There’s more. [Pauses, hesitant] Do you remember when Leo was born? The twins?
Elena Rossetti
[Blinking through her tears, her voice soft and confused] Twins...? But... one of them died.
Dante
[Shaking his head, his eyes burning with intensity] No, Elena. One didn’t die. Luca lied to you. He had the second twin taken away—swapped with a dead baby.
Elena Rossetti
[Elena’s breath catches in her throat as Dante’s words sink in. Her legs feel weak beneath her as she struggles to process the unimaginable truth.]
Elena Rossetti
[Barely a whisper] What are you saying? Where’s my baby?
Dante
[Voice grim] Luca gave your second twin to Bianca. She couldn’t have a child of her own... so he gave her yours.
[Elena stumbles back, her heart pounding painfully in her chest. The betrayal cuts even deeper than before, and her mind spins, trying to make sense of the horrifying revelation.]
Elena Rossetti
[Crying out in disbelief] No… no, Dante, that can’t be true. Luca wouldn’t do that to me!
Dante
[Softly, but firmly] He did, Elena. He made you believe one of your babies had died. But your other child is alive.
[Elena’s tears fall freely as she grips her chest, feeling as though her heart is being ripped apart all over again. The world seems to close in around her as the weight of the betrayal crashes over her.]
Elena Rossetti
[Sobbing] My baby… my baby’s with her?
[Dante steps closer, his voice filled with sympathy and quiet rage.]
Dante
Yes. And I swear, Elena, we’re going to make this right. But you need to stay strong. This isn’t over yet.
