She hits send and goes back to her screen. A second later, her phone buzzes again. Her heart stops. The message is from Adrian.
Lana’s face burns. Her fingers fumble as she types a reply.

(text)Oh my god, Mr. Blackwood! I’m so sorry! That was meant for my friend! 😰
She looks up, and her eyes meet Adrian’s. He’s staring right at her with a hint of a smile. She can’t breathe. Seconds drag on until his next text arrives.
Lana’s heart pounds. Curious? About what? She types back, feeling her hands shake.

He takes his time. She watches him type, then pause, like he's thinking it through. Finally, the reply comes.
