(She could hear the continuous, rhythmic and synchronized sound of the whistling and the beating of some kind of stick, probably a walking stick, at particular, but in very short intervals. It clearly did not sound like as if it was being used to walk, rather it was like as if it's beat was being used as a chilly background music.)
She realized that her legs had turned numb since she had been crouching down behind the sofa all this while. Her face was all sweaty and her hair falling all over her face. She covered her mouth more tightly with both her hands making sure that not even the sound of her breathing could be heard
The synchronized chilling music continued, and the clock seemed to be enjoying, providing an extra sound to the other two inside the house. The atmosphere, both inside, and outside were grave, shady and contrastive. It was raining cats and dogs outside, meanwhile the dark house with no lights switched on, had pin drop silence except the eerie sync. Suddenly a spec of dust entered her nostrils, and...

"Achoo!" (Unwillingly came out the sound which she had been trying to suppress since long)

(Even though it was negligible, but she knew that he had heard it. She quietly opened the cupboard beside her and again making sure not to make a sound, she crept into it, closed the door gently. She stood there, wishing to skip the horrible night, her legs trembling about to give away. )
The eerie sync of the whistling and the rhythmic beating of the walking stick suddenly stopped and hers heart seemed to skip a beat. For all this while she had almost gotten used to the sync, but its sudden absence made her hear her heart beat even more so clearly that she prayed that it would stop beating.
