It was a typical Monday morning at the university campus. The sun was slowly rising, casting a warm glow over the bustling streets. Students hurried to their early morning classes, clutching coffee cups and backpacks.
Ashvik, a senior majoring in business administration, walked to his 8 a.m. lecture, still trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. He had stayed up late the night before, working on a project, and was not looking forward to the long day ahead.
As he turned a corner, his mind still foggy, he collided with someone rushing in the opposite direction. Books and papers scattered across the ground.
Ashvik
Whoa, sorry about that. Are you okay?
Aisha, with her dark hair cascading down her back and bright green eyes flashing with a mix of surprise and something else, looked up at him. Ashvik felt a jolt of electricity shoot through him.
Aisha
Aisha: I’m fine, just... wasn’t watching where I was going.
They both bent down to gather the scattered items. Their hands brushed against each other, and Ashvik felt a spark that was impossible to ignore. He glanced at her again, this time noticing the curve of her lips, the way her lashes framed those striking eyes.
Ashvik
You know, it’s not every day I get to bump into someone as beautiful as you. Literally.
Aisha hesitated for a moment, a slight blush creeping up her cheeks.
Aisha
You must say that to all the girls you run into.
Ashvik
Only the ones who make it worth my while. He handed her the last of the papers, letting his fingers linger against hers.
She pulled back slightly, her gaze locking onto his, as if searching for something behind those piercing blue eyes.
Aisha
Thanks... I should get going.
Ashvik
Wait, you dropped this too. He held up a notebook with her name neatly written on the cover. Aisha, huh? It suits you.
Ashvik
Ashvik. So, do you believe in fate?
Aisha
I believe in getting to class on time. She smirked, but there was a hint of playfulness in her eyes.
Ashvik
How about this—let fate bring us together again. Over coffee, perhaps?
She paused, considering him for a moment, then gave him a smile that was both shy and enticing.
Aisha
Maybe. If you’re lucky.
Ashvik
I like a challenge, Aisha. His voice dropped to a lower, more intimate tone. And I’m very persistent when I see something—or someone—I want.
Aisha bit her lip, her heart racing a bit faster than usual. Without another word, she turned and continued on her way, but not before giving him one last glance over her shoulder.
Ashvik watched her walk away, a slow grin spreading across his face. He had a feeling this was just the beginning.
