In the Secret Ancestral Hall, Cui Yao just concluded narrating to Cui Yan his son the story of his father Cui Shen and also his own story. But they got interrupted before he could tell the stories of the other clan ancestral leaders when suddenly the Kings personal attendant came in and informed him that he had visitors.
"Son, forgive me because I won't be able to accompany you any further, you can remain here if you want to though. I believe the ancestors would be happy welcome your presence", he said while smiling.
"Go ahead father", he said slightly bowing with the palm fist greeting.

After his father's departure and he was left alone, he turned to face the statues and slowly checked each of them one after the other. After a few minutes he got to the first ancestor at the end of the line. His build was extraordinary and he wielded a hammer that made Cui Yan wonder how they ever got to carve it out of stone, for the hammer head was massive_at least the size of a ram yet the handle was just Slender like a vine.
ಠ_ಠ
Cui Yan moved closer to look closely at the details of the hammer, he even got a stool to climb and check it properly. The handle of the hammer had carvings of a serpent like it was coiled around the handle. He trailed the snake carvings tail and went up the hammer till when he got to the height limit of the stool.... but something told him to keep going and so Cui Yan bowed before and apologized to the ancestor and then began to scale the statue. On getting to the top of the statues shoulder he finally saw the features of the hammer properly. The snakes head was actually the hammers head. The art was so beautiful that for a moment he was mesmerized by it and could only say Wow!. Then he made a move to touch the hammer and immediately he made contact, there was a tiny spark and a wisp of black smoke came from the handle of the hammer and covered his left hand {that's the hand he used to touch the hammer}. Seeing this, Cui Yan became frightened but that was not all. Cui Yan became to feel a piercing gaze on his back, that gaze sent chills down his fourteen years old spine. He turned with the most frightened expression on his face and noticed the eyes of this ancestors statue was like purple light and was staring side eyed at him.
\(╬⁽⁽ ⁰ ⁾⁾ Д ⁽⁽ ⁰ ⁾⁾\)
AARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!
he screamed in fright and then he lost his balance. And down he fell from the shoulder of the statue. While falling, the purple lit eyes of the statue trailed him down and then he landed on his head.
Everything goes black and he passed out.
(ー_ー゛)
So he is compatible with the will of the hammer eh! the ancestor's statue began to speak, this ancestor is overjoyed today to see one of his descendant use a skill i created. You will change the fate of many and this continent would not be able to hold you as your place has been set amongst the highest places of the seventh heaven.
ヾ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)ノ
The ancestor while speaking with joy noticed the blood flowing from the broken head of Cui Yan and breath out vital Qi, this Qi instantly healed his wounds and also began to circulate the will of the Hammer around Cui Yan's body and it fused with him within his subconscious.
*************************
Several minutes passed before Cui Yan regained consciousness, but it seemed he had forgotten about his experience a few minutes ago as he concluded he might had hit his head so hard from the fall that he was imagining things.
So he gets up and exits the ancestral Hall and makes his way to the outer courtyard of the palace.
On the way out of the inner courtyard he bumped into Shen Long (the first son amongst the six sons of the clan leader of the Northern Dragon clan) in the company of his friends.
Shen Long was the same age as Cui Yan but nevertheless they were world's apart. Firstly, Shen hair was fiery red and carefully packed and bundled up with a golden hair band and pin while a portion of his front hair fell and covered his left eye. As for his build, it wasn't much as he was raised as a spoilt brat and only got to the late stage of the human realm with the aid of expensive pills and elixirs. Still he was a showoff and regularly bullied our protagonist due to his powerlessness.
So Cui Yan wondered what god he had offended for meeting with this bad luck, firstly he had hit his head and was imagining things and now he was faced with his Arch-Nemesis. At that moment he wanted the grounds to open up and swallow him and was thinking of a method to escape without being noticed when suddenly Chen Cai, one of Shen Long's goons noticed him.
Boss Shen, isn't that [add whatever slang word for "useless" you know, preferably in Chinese or even your native dialect]-Yan.
Shen Long turned around from the direction where he was practicing on a sandbag, and began smirking maliciously at him which sent chills down Cui Yan's spine.
ᕙ(͡°‿ ͡°)ᕗ
well well well, I was beginning to grow tired of practicing with crappy equipment and an even better punching bag brings itself to me.
Cui Yan cursed Shen Long in his heart, why do I have to run into this bastard of all people. But today was different, unlike before when he always cowered before them and get beaten, he felt like he could run away this time. so when Shen ordered his bootlicking gang of friends to get hold of him, he bolted towards the gate.
Maybe he was too scared to notice it, but he wasn't the same as before. The Cui Yan from a day earlier would have stumbled over and over again if he tried to run that distance, but now he had increased stamina, dexterity and flexibility so he easily maneuvered his way out of the palace Gates.
From a distance the other nobles overlooked this as they saw it as child's play. Cui Yan on retreating, deviated from the road and went straight into the forest while being pursued by a group of four.
Shen Long could not overlook the fact that something was different about the Cui Yan they were chasing after. he was weaving and dodging his way through the forest he just entered for the first time and he didn't trip and fall even once, while his teammates had tripped a few times already. so while running he brought his teammates attention to this little facts.
After a few minutes of running in the woods Cui Yan stumbled upon a thatched houses that seemed abandoned if not for the fact that there was an open blacksmiths forge besides it. Everything else about the house was really scary, the trees around the house had weird markings on each of them and there were no animals, birds or even insects at that point. Cui Yan ignored all these facts and just ran straight into the house and closed the door behind him.
Shen Long and his band of good for nothing nobles stopped chasing after they noticed the strangeness in the atmosphere and turned back the other way and returned to the palace at once.
When Cui Yan finally confirmed that they had left, then it dawned to him where he was and fear overcame him that one could hear his heartbeat loud and clear. He wanted to return as soon as possible but then he heard the sounds of a large heavy metal door as it scraped against the floor of the Smith's forge and it felt like his heart was slowly ripped out but through his throat. The sounds of footsteps approaching the house made his heartbeat increase to it's limitier.
And then the door to the main house was opened...
